En nuestra trigésima octava entrega tenemos el agrado de presentar a OHM, dj productor oriundo de Reykjavik, Islandia. Con base en Copenhague y con fuertes asociaciones a sellos tales como Thule Records, Force Inc, Rawax, Luck of access, Taped artifact, Nilla y Kontakt se transformó en una de las principales figuras de la escena techno contemporánea de Islandia.

En 1999, debuta con una colaboración con la leyenda del techno islandés Exos, que fue editada en Force Inc. Desde entonces, ha editado sus trabajos en Thule Records, Rawax, Taped artifact, AE records, X / OZ, Solid Groove y Kontakt Records, y trabajando con artistas como Octal Industries, Exos, y ahora recientemente con Kvadrant, jefe de sello de Kontakt Records y presentador de los legendarios programas Tweak fm. 

Debido a su estilo único, es difícil encasillar su música dentro de un sólo genero debido a su influencia de Detroit, el dub y, por supuesto, el minimal techno clásico.

Ohm se mantiene fiel a sus raíces innovando constantemente su interpretación de la música techno, integrando el soul y la innovación con la escena.

minimal detroit vol.092It was a very special honour to be asked to record a mix for the Minimal Detroit crew and it led to me spending some time thinking of the tracks and theme before recording. The 'Detroit' sound and style had to be woven into the mix with Spacey atmospherics, Bleeped out mechanical rhythms, Electro grinds and Heavy broken machine workouts. The initial mix kicks of a little deeper building into tracks from some true Detroit originators like Anthony Shake Shakir and Robert Hood blending up with newer artists like Defekt, Ocktawian, Handmade DJ, Oliver Rosemann, Ritzi Lee who are all advancing on and keeping the original blueprint styles alive.

Been a while since we shared a guest Podcast but we are back with a very special mix. This guest has been around for quite some time but over the last 10 or so years has emigrated, started a family and invested his spare time in building a studio, collecting some choice pieces of hardware and mastering them. Good friend Jamie Cox has supplied us with a mix which is perfectly crafted, tracks meticulously selected and arranged to give you over 2 hours of listening pleasure. In this mix he puts the Elektron Octatrack, 2 x 1210's, 2 x cdj's to good use finding moments of magic where he can slip a third track between 2 then running polyrhythms from the Octatrack over the top. Starting our second century of podcasts the way we finished the first we have something rather special in store for you. For the 101st edition of our mix series, we welcome none other than the nu school house trio of Mandar.

Singularly the triple threat of S.A.M., Malin Génie, and Lazare Hoche has delivered a truly diverse take on house across their own labels and countless others. Collectively the story is even more impressive as they produced one of the standout tracks of 2018 in ‘String Theory’ which came via their own label Oscillat Music. The output from this fine group of artists as Mandar is few and far between but what does come out via the Mandar moniker is always on point and always worth the wait.

The same can be said about their podcasts, so the fact we have them for our next instalment is something to write home about…
