Elmo Sarpaniemi (El Mono) and Roope Karhunen (Kaltstam) met at a local Helsinki radio station in 2005, and linked up soon again at an afterparty in 2018. Fueled by their mutual passion towards only the best genres ever they squeezed out a blend of goa trance, techno, electro, breakbeats, and IDM. This steamy and humid session gave birth to the title track, “Positive”.

The other ER original - 2G - sounds more like traditional goa trance, but still… it hardly is. Clocking the rhythm around 140 bpm like the opening track, it kicks in the club doors with a robust bassline, enchanting the cultured dancer with its peculiar melodies, leaving the purists absolutely cold evicting them for a cigarette. Because who gives an oink about purists, right?

This record is also fortunate enough to be blessed with two spectacular remixes. Neri J’s approach is a more club friendly, yet aetheric version of “Positive”, but don’t get it twisted. It still possesses something very psychedelic and raw. Ilev Luna wraps up the release nicely with his touch, that sounds like an interpretation of modern techno, but in fact could be a journey into your psyche. BOOM! This slaps.

The Exit Planet Earth series continues with the first ever collaboration between two undisputed electro funk heavyweights Egyptian Lover & Soul Clap. Egypt knows how to rock the TR808 like no other and has been a true player on the LA electro scene since 1984. While Soul Clap have forged their unique E-Funk sound coming out of New York City as part of the Crew Love collective. The resulting track ‘Hai Karate’ is a slice of superbly produced classic electro designed to rattle bass bins from Miami to Mars.

Following form in classic electro directions Futurenauts present their debut track ‘We are the Futurenauts’ that brings a slower based groove reminiscent of a Love from Outer Space trip into the cosmos and delivers a powerful message to humanity. 

The flip side sees a welcome return to 20/20 Vision from the Maltese magician Sound Synthesis who continues the vocoded vocals but adds a state of the art assault on the senses with a slamming track aimed firmly at the discerning dancefloor. 

EPE08 Krypton is finished off in fine style by Mick Wilson & August Artier with ‘Akira’s Cry’, which fuses a deep house bassline and chords with tight break beat programming and powerful lead strings…

‘‘So this is going to sound super generic, since i know so many other dj colleagues struggle for similar things. I‘ve never uploaded a live mix of mine. On the other hand, i love to listen to mixes played by other djs in particular clubs. But when it comes to mine, i find myself being super hard on the live recordings. Thinking it only fitted to that timing, location and that particular crowd. I thought someone listening to that at home will never catch the energy of that room. 

A few weeks in the back i had the honor to play at SNC crew’s & city club augsburg‘s 10th birthday. Besides that this night was a whole blast and i fully fell in love with city club, it changed my idea about live recordings - but i was still hard on it tho. After getting so much feedback and Emi hyping me totally up, i finally agreed to uploading this nights recording. 

So here you go, i hope some peeps like it and please remember - let‘s not be hard on ourselves. Thank you to Emi, Valentin, Fufi & Raphael Schön for taking such good care of me‘‘

In 2018 she moved to North Rhine-Westphalia where she continues her journey. Dedication and passion for music led her to become a resident at the Essen institution Hotel Shanghai. The mix she recorded for Warning is a blend of hip hop influenced house, techno and rave with a light trance infusion.
