Everything is Permitted: Olivia Block (10/12/21)

"Anthesizer I" is a track consisted of audio clips from Anthesizer, an audio-visual exhibition held at CalArts Expo 2022.

Anthesizer is an audiovisual exhibition featuring Harvester Ants, Pogonomyrmex Rugosus. Tiny piezo mics are placed inside of their nest and their foraging area. Those mics are going to pick up the small sounds they make while they are picking up the seeds and carrying them, cracking them open, or hunting down their prey along the way. And then, these random sounds goes into Max and Touch Designer which generate sound design and visual corresponding to their hard working.

Big shout out to Kuai Shen, who inspired me and helped me with this project.

This is a track I made in 1 day for my CalArts application portfolio(I GOT IN!!!). I really loved making this and it meant a lot to me. Hope it brings someone the joy it brought me :)
