Controlla (@controlla) are presenting two new talents from Monterrey: KickZologo (@kickzologo) with Eliloop. The original version of the title track is a soft and rock version, where the sweet tone of "Eliloop" dazzles us. Undoubtedly a great release by Controlla, exploring new nuances. The reversions, first of all De Ali X x Ximena, is the Dark/Soft version of the ep, Alex Aguayo (@alexaguayomusic) together with Javier Martinez (@javiermartinezmx) created a pure Indie dance, and Umvral gives the ep a hard touch.

Old Spanish friends, DJs and producers, Th3 Oth3r and Bias, join forces again to build two extraordinarily cool tunes.

The first one, “Appart” which gives the full name to the extended play , it counts on singer Leo Ferro from Mar de Plata, Argentina. Together they deliver an anthem-style Indie Dance track built on breakbeats with big synths and catchy vocal hooks, including a Dub version for more underground purposes.

The second one, “Damned”, comes with a more energetic approach with full influences of eighties sounds in two different presentations, the Acid and Italo versions, both suitable for any dancefloor motion.

Structure of Magic - Dystopia Dimokratia

Side Up Works is releasing their second EP of the year, which features the work of DJ and producer Gleb Bykox from Kharkov, Ukraine. Bykox is the creator of the FRISSON project and is recognized as one of the best DJs in his country, having gained a reputation for delivering top-notch electronic sound at the most relevant underground parties. The EP includes three original tracks, along with a remix by Niv Ast, a renowned DJ and producer from Tel Aviv, Israel.

Since his first appearance on Freerange Records in 2017, Astroloop (SXDNS253) has been carving his name in stone in the high-quality underground music scene. Inspired by Cosmic-Disco-infused House Music, it was not until his debut on New Day Everyday in 2021 that his focus has been solely on bringing to life well-constructed and creative Indie Dance cuts. His solid works published on Nothing Is Real, Latido, Ombra, and NEIN have established the rising Italian producer as one of the most prominent names of the genre.

He is now back on the British powerhouse NEIN with a driving & sharp EP featuring two peak-time beasts (“Hold Me” and “San Pedro) and a spot-on remix made with love by awesomely bearded Milano-based producer Tayga.

The track we were solicited to review/premiere depicts Astro flirting once again with his Cosmic Disco influences successfully paired with a proper amount of Acid and laser FXs. The ominous vocal hook and the powerful Blade-like synth stab cannot go unmentioned.

As a DJ, Mennez has been fighting the good fight for quite a while stirring up the nights in Valencia and Benidorm for years. As a producer, however, he is just kicking off his trajectory – and he couldn’t debut on a better label: The Spanish powerhouse Espacio Cielo is famous for opening its doors to skilled aspirant artists, and the team would never miss the opportunity of supporting another promising talent. The “Smooth Transition” EP comes with three well-constructed originals, one in collaboration with Sounic, another newcomer, and two outstanding remixes made by veterans Moo Moonster (SXDNS054/TAKEOVER002/RASTROLIVE008) & Futuristant (SXDNS353/FREEDL042) and Parissior (SXDNS206/FREEDL043/TAKEOVER002/BANDCAMP002/RASTROLIVE009), the label boss himself.

Premiered here, the title track is the result of the aforementioned collaboration between Mennez & Sounic. The Spanish rookies dressed in their space suits and flew up fast and high into their exploratory journey, bringing to life a Cosmic-Disco-infused theme that competently shows the credentials of the duo. The beautiful bassline, rhythmic percussive elements, melodic synth layers, and dreamy pad, together, constitute a must-have piece for the fans of high-quality Nu Disco/Indie Dance out there. Keep an eye on the lads, will you?
