Envision a hauntingly serene landscape at twilight, where the boundary between day and night blurs into a symphony of muted purples, deep blues, and the last whispers of sunset orange. This ethereal scene is enveloped in a thick, misty ambiance that seems to pulse gently with the rhythm of forgotten ambient music. In the heart of this dreamscape lies an ancient, gnarled tree, its branches stretching out like the fingers of time, casting intricate shadows that dance softly to an unseen melody. Beneath the tree, a delicate, translucent stream flows, its waters whispering secrets of regret and memories lost to time. The stream meanders endlessly, symbolizing the relentless passage of thoughts and the deep remorse of crossing paths not meant to be crossed. The air is charged with a palpable sense of longing and reflection, as if the very landscape itself is mourning the connection that was once made and now lingers only as an echo in the void. The entire scene is devoid of human presence, emphasizing the isolation and introspection that comes with regret, yet there's a profound beauty in the solitude, a reminder that even in moments of sorrow, there's a certain peace in being forgotten by the world, accompanied only by the ambient soundtrack of the universe.

The piece - Lafken Kürüf - has been composed from recordings taken in the south of Chile in 2015. Mixing various sounds of the wind and the ocean, as well as glimpses of voices, those emblematic sounds from my stay there are composed in a short piece transcribing the powerful sonic landscape that has accompany me during the three months spent in the Mapuche Lafkenche community of Traïtraïko Leufu. The noise of the wind on the rooftop of my house and the rumble from the Pacific Ocean close by kept me from sleeping at night as i would imagine it coming out from its bed, like in the Mapuche Lafkenche mythology.
