Gifted young artist Thandi Draai shows off her talents on a stellar new single for Get Physical with remixes from DJ Clock and Lemon & Herb.  

Thandi Draai is a multi-talented artist who is rapidly becoming an international figure. She has received key press support for both her solo and collaborative music and is part of a new wave of African female DJs and producers to come to the fore. Based in Johannesburg, she has always used music as an escape and has been supported or remixed by Atjazz, DJ Shimza, and Charles Webster. Her biggest tunes often top online charts and include gems like 'Iris' and 'Lomhlaba.' Her always positive vibes shine through on this new single for Get Physical once again and provide an early taster for the latest Africa Gets Physical album which she will be compiling later this year. 

The sublime 'Jika' is an enchanting and deep house track with spine-tingling vocals. The loose percussion and spiritual synths all serve to hypnotise, with fresh drama and a brooding intensity constantly unfolding above the grooves. 

South African artist and award-winning DJ and producer DJ Clock is first to remix. He is a pioneer of his national scene, now making waves worldwide thanks to global airplay and high-profile support. His excellent remix is masterfully melodic, with uplifting chords stretching out to infinity. The smooth drums lock you in, and the vocals provide maximum impact. Fellow South Africans Lemon & Herb have achieved a lot in a short time since winning a remix competition held by the legendary Atjazz. They've topped Traxsource charts, released on Ocha Records, and now impress with this remix. It is a classy and cultured deep house tune with serene synth strings, dreamy vocals, and a heavenly atmosphere that lifts the spirits from start to finish. 

This rich EP is a fine showcase of the best South African talent out there.

This is our first ever cover song. We know that Led Zeppelin is considered by many to be "untouchable" and that even attempting something like this could be offensive, wrong, whatever. But fuck it. Music is supposed to be fun, and making this was one of the most fun productions we've done. No Quarter is our favorite Zep tune, and that's probably because its one of the only songs in which they use a synth and some keyboards. Its a dark, intense, classic song with a crazy storyline and meaning. Apparently when it was first released it got terrible reviews from Rolling Stone and the other folks in the industry that "know what they're talking about," and maybe that's why we love it so much. Take a listen, let us know what you think, maybe you find it interesting, maybe you think we've butchered a classic... either way, we loved making it.

The twelfth batch of fruits from our fruit orchard have been picked, and are ready to taste.

The deep melodic sounds of French producer Quatri have a depth and uniqueness that is hard to quantify or draw comparisons against. His detailed and emotive production style, which made its foundations at imprints like Oleeva Records and Nie Wieder Schlafen, is quickly turning underground heads.

The title track "Vendet" sits firmly in Quatri's signature style. Surrounded by a crisp drum rack, atmospheres weave in and out, through flutes and influences from the World. "Who Are You" is a lot more clubbier of the two. With brass Parisian elements and a hefty kick, the track will pick up the flow in a set in no time.

The EP is closed off by two remixes from two exciting producers in the scene; Joe Miller and Padre.

Padre's Ceremonial Mix strips everything back, and lets the track breathe. Created in mind for DJs who want to add their own drum beat, the harnessed darkness of Padre's Ceremonial Mix is a testament to his carefully selected taste and producing style.

From the kindest Australian on the planet, Joe Miller's remix carefully respects the original, while refocusing & stripping down elements to take you into a calmer state. Signed to labels like All Day I Dream, Traum + more, and support from Lane 8 and Robert Babicz, Joe Miller is one to look out for.

Padre (@padreuk) started his Oleeva journey with a wickedly romantic remix of Bird Noire - Rare over a year ago and has spent that year relentlessly creating new music. His most recent release was a collaboration with Nigerian singer Oe, released in June by All Day I Dream. We have the pleasure of releasing his debut album later in the year, but we commence proceedings with Glorious Body. A single taken from the LP presented with this gorgeous B side, Rainy Day. An adventurous electronic excursion of melancholy, soulful chords that make way for a restrained yet almost anthemic lead.
