First Version, raw underproduced.

“Swamptown Prince” is both confession and comedy: a reflection on freedom, escape, and how easily they blur. I’m 37 now, stepping away from the weekly club grind and finally turning that energy into music. After years moving through Amsterdam and Berlin’s underground, I’ve made peace with making bad art — and letting that be good enough.

The name is ironic, too. Amsterdam is a swamp — beautiful, messy, and impossible to escape. For years I sang through its streets, parks, and canals, a lone raver with a portable speaker, oscillating between confidence and dissociation. Those moments became both therapy and performance — healing, madness, and self-expression merging into sound.

Behind it lie deeper stories: my hospitalization in 2017, false narratives, stigma, and the slow climb back to belonging. Raving was my bridge when the world felt closed off — my way of staying alive, connected, and queer.

This track is shadow work — my way of writing through the blocks, owning the past, and transforming it into art.
It’s about queer liberation, recovery, and defiance.

Indie Sleaze × Electroclash Club Rave (Vril Techno)

Got totally side-tracked trying to finish my own song — ended up hyper-focusing in Ableton and spiralling into this weird little gem instead. Procrastination at its finest.

This one’s an experimental house track that’s definitely not for everyone. It features vocal samples from vlogger Sacha Slone, taken from her brilliant and hilarious breakdowns comparing Borderliners and Narcissists — clips that are both empowering and painfully accurate.

The speech hit me hard. It goes beyond conventional mental healthcare, where narcissistic abuse awareness is still barely on the radar. As someone living with BPD, it gave me this rebellious, confident spark — the same energy that inspired the lyric from my own track: “Crushin’ shady bitch narcs.” It’s cheeky, maybe a little stigmatizing, but also cathartic as hell. If you get it, you get it.

Borderliners are among the most misunderstood and stigmatized, while narcs/sociopaths/psychopaths often thrive in power — even in creative industries. I’ve seen it firsthand in the electronic scene in Amsterdam. These videos — Slone is a form of radical self-care, while stuck on the GGZ /therapy waiting list (forever, lol).

Still a work in progress — just learning to play, sample, and let the drama and energy take over. Also… I needed a break from hearing my own voice for once.

Maybe this is the direction I’m heading — a little chaotic, a little funny, and very real.

My reinterpretation of “Mack the Knife”, originally composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Bertolt Brecht for Die Dreigroschenoper (The Threepenny Opera). The English adaptation was later written by Marc Blitzstein.

This version leans into a darker, slinkier swing — heavily inspired by the energy and swagger of Robbie Williams’ Swing When You’re Winning era, which has always felt like the perfect blend of theatrical danger and big-band charm.

This track started as something I was supposed to sing.
It turned into something I needed to reclaim and rephrase my narrative very real and to the point. 

This track is a re-writing of the original lustrumlied of the oldest and most beautifyl  sorority in the Netherlands (1815)  VINDICAT - “Voer de Boventoon” (2010) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDg1HLjHmZY&list=RDhDg1HLjHmZY&start_radio=1
where I was the vocalist. 

Original lyrics are written by Wouter Bongers en Focko van der Goot. and the Gold ’n Blues Lustrum Band. 
Special reference to Leon Bos; guitarist, and Steven T. with the trumpet solo. 

Gay & Borderline became a rite of passage —
part parody, part self-care, part trauma-processing.
A way to take a song that once asked me to blend in
the mold, into a queer anthem. 

Cause us queers, suffer from higher rates of mental illness, among that 
Borderline, the most stigmatized mental illness.

This version exists in the hope of breaking the silence
around queerness in Dutch sorority culture — as well as breaking the stigma 
of Borderline personality disorder.
