I've been debating whether to change to u/SYNCLIPSE since my current internet alias is URUFU, thus urufuSYNCLIPSE, but I imagine u/SYNCLIPSE would get confused as user SYNCLIPSE from reddit or something... so I guess I'll stay f/SYNCLIPSE 'til the end of time.

Okay going back on subject, this track was one of the few I made with a certain direction in mind (which I ended up completely abandoning). The basic premise was with a total of 4 instruments (three different sounds) + drums, I'd make a variety of differently styled tracks... it didn't take long for me to start repeating ideas, and by track 5 I couldn't figure out what to try with the limited set of instruments. Track 5 was quickly starting to sound like this track, causing me to abandon making music for a while.

As you can hear, I've already cheated and added one or two new instruments to the mix. I felt like they were needed (and besides, I wanted to try out my newly created presets).

When I finished the track, I had debated whether I should put it in the album or include it in a different album, since it did stray away from the 'formula'... but I ended up keeping the track due to laziness.

Here's where I started to run out of ideas (originally). I didn't know what melody to put in the track, and any attempt at forcing one just didn't work out at all.

This track was inspired by multiple things. First, it was inspired by a section of a video that was about a guy looking at the design and interface of Dorico. Then, that inspiration brought up an old favorite track of mine: Disco Ball from Ridge Racer (PSP). With the inspirations in place, I began working on the track. Everything went almost swimmingly, except for the volume ducking parts. You see, originally my plan was to do some filter effect to the track, sort of how the filter effect worked in FL Studio Mobile 2, but I just couldn't seem to find a way to do it. So I ended up just automating the volume knob, which wasn't as good-sounding, but it worked so yeah.

Party Zone

So this track was originally started on October 2018... yeah it's that old. There were several reasons why I didn't finish the track at that time. First, I started the project on the small computer, which like others that were started on it was left unfinished. Second, I didn't know how to proceed with the rest of the track. I kept revisiting this project but I'd always just close it and work on something else...

Until today... err I mean the day I worked on this track for ON THE GO. I basically copied over the melodies and drum patterns, then modified some, and finished it up. None of the original instruments the first version used were kept, but by doing that I was able to make the track sound a bit better and less... empty.

And that's really all there is about this track... oh except for the bit where originally track 6 was supposed to be an extended version of Rest Assured [note to self: link the song once it's published] and this track was supposed to be track 11... but I was too lazy (and not inspired enough) to make an extended version so I instead created something entirely new for 11 and moved this track to 6.

Heavy Doggo

The gimmick here is that the main lead of this track produces different sounds depending on what notes are being combined, with notes that are closer together producing a more distorted sound, while something that's more harmonically spaced will produce something more pleasant.

Yes, the intro is supposed to sound bad. I don't know what style I was imitating but it was something where the intro would be bad, but suddenly it would change to something smooth or something like that.

Also, if you hadn't noticed, I went quite crazy (for me) with the reverb and the echo.

Sting

If the name hadn't clued you in already, this track is based on the previous track Sting. Although this isn't the first track I used polyrhythm in (that award goes to Dapper Rave Parrade), it is one of the main gimmicks used in this track. Of course, the previous track's gimmicks are all there, but they aren't the main focus but rather the "inspirations".

This is actually a redo of the same song I originally made in FL Studio Mobile 2.

Although I didn't have access to the project (it was stored in a different computer in a different continent), I still managed to replicate as closely to the original as I could.

Some parts didn't turn out the way I wanted them to, but some sacrifices had to be made.

Groovy Pop Tuned

This was a pain in the butt to master. For whatever reason, the second saxophone loves to crackle and break, so I had to render the track 8 measures at a time separately... but other than that I love how this turned out. Maybe I could remaster this with proper reverb, but that's for later.

Coalescence

Alright this might be a reupload, but it's actually the release version. The one that's already uploaded on Soundcloud is the pre-release. I can't remember what's different about them.

This was the first new track I made after a long hiatus. Before that, I completed a remaster of an old track, and dug up another one I remastered a while ago but forgot to post (which I later posted on bandcamp).

So the story goes something like this: I was given an assignment where I had to make a podcast about a subject. Of course, as someone who knew nothing about podcasts, I assumed that there was a background track. With that in mind I began making a new track. I began with the usual instruments, but found that I was just really in the mood for some piano stabs (or whatever they're called). Then I remembered all the VSTs I downloaded at some point, one of which was a grand piano... and lemme tell you, the free grand piano VST sounds a heck of a lot more natural than the ones created from the default plugins.

While I was browsing the small catalogue of VSTs I had for the piano, I stumbled across the saxophone one (made by the same person), and after playing around with it a bit I determined it needed to be in the track. After finishing the track, I began modifying the sounds a bit by replacing the bass with another more natural one, and replacing the kick.

The funny thing is that this track was originally meant for another album I was planning, but since I didn't even have the artwork for it I just dumped the track in this album. Little did I know, that would kickstart my inspiration.

Also this was my first and only front-paged music track in Newgrounds.

Finally, my new album! To say it was overdue is an understatement... ah well better late than never.
