Copenhagen’s flash of energy, Anastasia Kristensen shares two more remixes of unreleased tracks, with Danish techno titan Ctrls and Brooklyn’s ballroom scene darling, quest?onmarq stepping up for rework duties.

Following the recent, acclaimed remix of ‘Voice Within’ from Galway’s party-starter KETTAMA, this is the second hint towards an incredibly exciting project on which Anastasia is still yet to shed light.

Taking ‘Volshebno’ to new dimensions, Anastasia’s close friend and Token Records mainstay Ctrls delivers a wigged out, acid-tinged electro workout. Spliced with a mesmerising, dreamy breakdown and a whomping bassline, this is fast-paced euphoria at its finest.

Multifaceted sound artist Ctrls has been immersed in club music for most of his life. A producer, performer, engineer and a globally renowned DJ, his classy take on techno has been finessed throughout the journey. Impossible to pigeonhole, Ctrls has explored many genres under various monikers - drum'n'bass under Pyro, house as 2400 Operator, and industrial leaning sounds as Northern Structures.

Core-member of the collective Daytimers, @user-500557389 has enjoyed a meteoric rise in 2021, with her debut podcast, club set, festival appearance, international booking and vinyl release all coming in the past year.

With her background originating in classical music and jazz, Riva fell under the spell of electronic music whilst growing up in the Middle East. From there, her taste and appreciation for music became borderless and eclectic, drawing inspiration from her British-Indian background and experiences of living in Hong Kong and South Africa. Her music does not hinge on one genre as Riva sees music as a form of storytelling and protest, and thus is always on the hunt for rhythms that can spread a message, unify and emancipate the listener on the dancefloor. 

Aside from her own music, Riva has been constantly championing other South Asian artistry through her role with Daytimers - who themselves enjoyed a breakthrough year - and being part of the organising team of the highly successful debut festival, Dialled In. She also brought together Daytimers and Big Dyke Energy to release the charity compilation ‘Celebrating Pride: For the Community, By the Community’ to raise money for several LGBTQI+ organisations.

@maxquerade’s set at our last UNFOLD was the perfect way to introduce himself to our London crowd, with a set that people are still talking about weeks later. Those from other areas in the UK, however, will have known about him for many years now. 

Learning his trade in Oxford, he seized the opportunities given to him and was very quickly playing with artists far beyond his years. Others began taking notice and before long he had appeared in lineups in cities throughout the UK, in clubs such Bristol’s Motion and London’s The Cause. It was Liverpool where Max then made a name for himself, playing very regularly in clubs there alongside many international artists, whilst he built his life there.

At our most recent UNFOLD MaxQuerade planted himself into our long term memories with a set that even now is still bouncing around our thoughts. A high energy, quality performance from him confirmed to all that we will being seeing him again very soon.

DETECT [082] - MaxQuerade

CX580 is a new creative alias of Damon Bradley, one that protects, elevates, and nurtures old school trance, some modern takes on trance, and the intimate connections trance has with techno. CX580 is light to complement the dark spaces of techno. CX580 aims to unify all the genres under the "electronic" genre, with a mind towards elevating the hearts and spirits of the last remaining souls on the dancefloor. CX580 down-to-earth, unapologetic and relentless with his presentation of trance, hardtrance and techno in between.

Damon Bradley is a veteran electronic music enthusiast, DJ and promoter. Originally from Philly, Damon is the creator of TechnoFist, Katalyst, and is one of the creators of SEQUENCE.

Damon has opened for the likes of Shifted, Ben Damage, Exos, and Phase, and closed for legends such as Jeff Mills, Luke Slater, Perc, Tommy Four Seven, Headless Horseman, Stranger, Milton Bradley, and The Gods Planet. Damon's favorite spot in the lineup is closing- always wanting to leave a strong, energetic impression for the last remaining zombies on the dance floor.

Damon’s influences span a broad spectrum of electronic music, ranging from ambient to industrial techno, groovy and soulful house, and melodic progressive trance. He curates the TechnoFist Facebook Group, which was created in 2013 and now is a community that has over 3000 members.

In 2016, Damon teamed up with Ron Jackson, Jacob Knibb, Associate and Juana to form SEQUENCE, an ambitious underground techno event series in Washington DC.

Self-confessed club kid and music enthusiast, @lo_low91 blends eclectic selections in our latest DETECT, from deep house to techno and breakbeat.

Spirited by nature, LO-LOW aims with her sets to give audiences what the club has given herself: freedom in expression on the dancefloor, energy, euphoria and community.

Initially breaking into the world of music through her journalism at CLASH Magazine, LO-LOW recently opened HOWL’s fourth edition at Colour Factory and can be regularly heard co-hosting Melatrois on Reform Radio and Love Music Hate Racism on Soho Radio.

@boobub is a producer, DJ, vocalist, and founder of the Ghetec party series in Newcastle.

Focusing on her productions during the pandemic, she has received support from an array of established DJs and airplay on BBC Radio 1. Releasing her first single, the atmospheric ‘I see a Halo’ last year, she now has club sounds coming via Anetha’s Mama Told Ya imprint.


Boo has recorded an exclusive mix for our DETECT series, full of unreleased music including some of her own productions. Exploring a wide range of music, she spans from abrasive heavy hitters to more euphoric uplighting selections.
