Born in Hanover in 1991 and raised in Malaga amidst a background of jazz due to his father, Joy's passion for music ignited with techno. This led him to Madrid, immersing himself in the techno scene, and eventually finding his sound in Berlin since 2015. Currently, a dedicated vinyl-only DJ, Joy boasts a high-level technique and is deeply committed to explore analog hardware evolving his unique sound!

Formulated with her hardware setup consisting of the complex waveform oscillator the DPO, Livewire AFG and the unique multi-purpose Phonogene. The TR-808 for the clangy percussion and booming bass drums.
For those punchy analog textures and abrasive soundscapes she uses the Korg MS-20. All glued together with fx like the BOSS Echo, Tc Nova Reverb and the Strymon Deco.

London based DJ and electronic musician, Manson X has been immersed in London’s techno landscape for well over a decade, both on and off the dance-floor. 

A local player driven by a strong love for the music and community, the Spanish artist has taken part and collaborated with many prominent collectives, events and radio stations across the city, benefiting all with his vast experience and expertise.

Behind the decks, his own DJ sets are characterised by relentless energy, hypnotic dissonant sounds and gritty textures, as you will hear in the following DETECT, recorded exclusively for FOLD.

BIO:
Leader of the Biotechnology music platform and event series, promoting what is cosmic, psychedelic, organic and hypnotic in techno. Co-founder of the Densiflora platform, promoting house, techno and breakbeat with a deep or progressive character. 

His selection is best defined by the projects he is behind. In terms of techno-oriented version, he seeks to bridge the gap between a hipnotic, minimalist sound, motoric grooves and broken or tribal beats. In the more house-oriented version, he seeks a balance between deep depth and ecstatic atmospheres. 
Tranceiness is the common denominator of both musical versions, which allows them to be combined as required. He has performed at signature events such as Up to date festival, the Institute, Las Festival and Crescent London. He has shared the stage with artists such as DJ Nobu, Steffi, Edit Select, Valentino Mora, Alfred Czital, Shlomo, Justine Perry and Setaoc Mass.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ ALESSANDRO ADRIANI

Alessandro Adriani is a lot of things – producer, DJ, live performer and label owner of Mannequin Records – but above all he is a tireless music researcher.
The Berlin-based Italian goes further than your average “crate digger” in pursuit of information about sounds, styles, artists and record labels, devoting countless hours to unearthing the untold stories behind the music he loves, regardless of when it was made.
Adriani’s obsession has naturally shaped his other musical endeavors, not least Mannequin Records, the label he established over than a decade ago, voted label of the month by Resident Advisor in 2017.
Over the years, the imprint has won praise from buyers and critics alike for its open-minded blend of on-point reissues, archival collections and fresh productions. The intriguing, leftfield mixture of material on offer – think techno, electro, cold wave, industrial, EBM, minimal synth, and more – is naturally a reflection of Adriani’s wide-ranging and off-kilter tastes ( as you’d discover if you had a quick flick through his vast and growing record collection ).
Adriani is distinctively drawn towards the dark and obscure, and you can hear this approach amongst the long, drawn-out mixes of his similarly eclectic DJ sets. 
Alessandro has contributed outstanding mixes for Resident Advisor, FACT, Crack Magazine, Bleep, Cxema and Dekmantel. On the festival circuit he’s made appearances at Berghain, Tresor, Atonal, Boiler Room, Dekmantel, ADE, Dimensions, Neopop, Positive Education, Signal and more, together with his bi-monthly dates at Berghain and Panorama Bar, a residency he’s held from 2016 to 2020.
As a producer, Adriani’s output naturally draws on these inspirations, but also reflects his obsession with electronic hardware. 
Under his own name Adriani has built a reputation for delivering heavy, angular and forthright club cuts for such celebrated labels as L.I.E.S. Records, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Jealous God, Pinkman and - of course - Mannequin Records.
