Swiss DJ and producer based in Berlin, Chlär is an artist emphasizing groove through blending tribal, vintage style club music with a modern touch. Using 3 or 4 decks in the booth, his high energy mixes combine rhythm-heavy tracks with his own production loops, ensuring the orginality of his work. 

Wearing many hats in his scene, Chlär has worked with leading labels such as Mutual Rytm, Taapion, RAW or Lobster Theremin and co-runs label Bipolar Disorder Rec. 

Not only an artist and sound engineer but also a professional of A&R and events management, Chlär has won the ‘’Raver’s Choice’’ award from the 2021 Raving Spoon Awards, rewarding leading figures of the scene.

Holding much of a hobbyist approach to electronic music until his teens, Whitley was nothing more than an average listener, perhaps only separating himself with a more experimental outlook on music. After he began integrating into the Glasgow techno scene Whitley's electronic music interests began to expand. 
Honing in on rough, Birmingham-style tribal techno, his attention was quickly drawn to the old school sounds, which naturally led to many hours spent online, building up a collection of 90/00s techno, and eventually venturing into the realm of trance. 

As one of the Voight-Kampff collective’s founding fathers, Whitley's role within the collective has been responsible for the aid of launching VK, as well as his solo career, into much deeper territory than Glasgow soil.

For the last Glitch podcast of 2022, we have invited one of the most promising dj/producers around: Chlär (@chlaer). Since his first release in 2018 on Bipolar Disorder, the Swiss artist has taken the scene by storm with his well-crafted productions and releases. His sets are direct crowd-galvanizers with technical and forward-thinking blends of grooves, always improvising through relentless 3-4 decks action as you can experience in this brilliantly crafted mix.

Over the course of an hour, Chlär takes us on a tight but adventurous trip through atmospheric and organic cuts to straight forward, tribal, groovy and ghetto infused Techno rollers that will keep you on your toes.
