On 18th July 2025, Foliage Records unveils a deeply expressive two-track EP that brings together the evocative lyricism of Supermoon Blues and the richly layered production of BNote. This release offers a captivating blend of deep, soulful house infused with poetic storytelling and Afro-rooted rhythms.

Hailing from Johannesburg, Bonolo "BNote" Mogotsi is a versatile South African producer known for his seamless fusion of Afrobeat, Hip Hop, and cinematic sound design. A founding member of the duo Taola—alongside Botswana’s Thato Angela Chuma—BNote has consistently brought African sensibilities to the global deep house scene, with previous Foliage releases like Freedom and Njelele showcasing his textured, rhythmic signature.

Joining him on this project is Supermoon Blues, the poetic alter ego of Andreattah “Drea” Chuma. A Botswana-born spoken word artist and musician, her work has graced stages from Glastonbury to Berlin. Known for her soul-searching lyricism and cross-genre approach, Supermoon Blues' acclaimed 2022 album Homing offered a powerful reflection on identity, belonging, and emotional reclamation from the diaspora.

Together, BNote and Supermoon Blues deliver an immersive listening experience—one that bridges deep house grooves with spoken word resonance, and brings African-rooted storytelling to the dancefloor.

In 2011, our sister label, Reel People Music, released "Found My Light", a single by one of the UK’s most treasured voices, Imaani.

Originally remixed by The Layabouts, "Found My Light" tells a heartfelt story about the joy and fulfilment that motherhood has brought to Imaani’s life.

A decade later, in 2022, our dear friend Atjazz applied his undeniable talents to work on a stunning remix of "Found My Light". More recently, while working on the next edition of the Deep Rooted series (a Foliage Records compilation), he sought to craft something truly unique once again. We are now thrilled to present "Found My Light" (Atjazz Galaxy Aart Remixes).

Originally from Derby, Imaani has spent most of her life in London, where she has crafted a remarkable musical journey. Introduced to the music world by the legendary Jocelyn Brown, who nurtured the seeds of her talent, Imaani has never looked back! 

Her career has flourished through her strong connection with the UK’s most celebrated Jazz Funk band, Incognito. She has recorded on several of their albums, including  "Eleven", "Beneath The Surface", "Adventures in Black Sunshine", "Bees & Things & Flowers", "Tales from the Beach", "Incognito 30th Anniversary Live" and "Surreal". Over the course of her longstanding relationship with Incognito, Imaani has completed multiple world tours and continues to perform live with the band.

Significant other recording partnerships have come with our very own Reel People ("Amazing" feat. Tony Momrelle), whilst moving into the house arena, firstly with Defected Records artist Copyright ("Wizeman" / "Nobody") and latterly with The Layabouts ("Fearless" / "Too Late") on the Future Retro album and then on Foliage with "Shine" & "Stay".

"U See That" originally appeared on Nathan’s album "Squire For Hire" and featured the glorious vocals of UK soul-jazz duo Vanessa Freeman & Marcus Begg. Now, in 2025, Atjazz sprinkles a generous helping of his love soul potion, complemented with newly recorded saxophone & flute parts from Nathan, resulting in yet another stand- Abadi MTout remix.

Sacrifice builds on Zo! and Tall Black Guy’s undeniable studio house and R&B alchemy across previous projects including, most notably, 2021 album Abstractions. Speaking to the importance of selflessness in friendships and relationships, Sacrifice is an intricate, life-affirming blend of atmospheric live drums, warm keys and sweet bassline on top of which Bond’s textured vocals soar defiantly upwards and outwards. Lorenzo ‘Zo!’ Ferguson has been active since the early Noughties, 2001 solo debut album Ablyss leading on to a series of ecstatically received +FE Music released follow-ups Skybreak (2016) and Fourfront (2019) as well as a Zo! Remixed EP on Foliage’s sister label Reel People Music. He continues to tour, both under his own steam and as keyboardist and musical director for expansive, Grammy-nominated hip-hop duo The Foreign Exchange. Meanwhile, regular collaborator Tall Black Guy, AKA Terrel Wallace, has established himself as a true progressive within contemporary hip-hop circles thanks to agile drops over the past decade or so on labels including BSTRD Boots, First Word and Ubiquity. Washington DC-based Debórah Bond is perhaps best known for her critically acclaimed albums DayAfter (2003), Madam Palindrome (2011) and Compass: I (2021) as well as for performing with Incognito, Melba Moore and Ronnie Jordan. She also has Reel People Music pedigree, her sultry 2016 track You Are The One earning heavy DJ rotation in clubs around the world upon debut and more recently her feel-good collaboration with Fouk on the single Loving At First Sight.

Foliage Records serves up another essential slice of deep and soulful house with ‘Show ‘Em Up’ — the latest offering from Dutch production duo Offshore and Coen, featuring the unmistakable voice of Swedish talent Ernesto & The Basement Gospel.

Since joining forces in 2010, Offshore (Maarten Kops) and Coen (Coen Verschuuren) have carved out a signature sound — a smooth, groove-soaked blend of deep house, live instrumentation, and warm, emotive vibes. Originally written and recorded by US RnB sensation ARI LENNOX, PEDIGREE was an underground classic having cleverly sampled BLACK ICE – POSTCARD LOVE AFFAIR. DAZ has skillfully recreated and replayed the sample and produced a modern house anthem with the help of ATLANTA native HADIYA GEORGE.

Back in 2002, DOMINIC JACOBSON aka MODAJI released the superb soulful single THINGS U DO 4 ME on our sister label PAPA RECORDS.

Featuring the luscious tones of JAG this much loved PAPA classic had never been remixed before. We thought it was well overdue to get some of our favourite remixers on board to give it some fresh love for 2020 so step forward CRACKAZAT and KAIDI TATHAM.

Earlier in 2020 FOLIAGE RECORDS welcomed MOON ROCKET for a debut release with the single RECIPROCITY, a beautiful collaboration with PAULA. Now we are very excited to present a stunning set of ‘Inner Spirit’ remixes courtesy of UK house don RICHARD EARNSHAW.

Based in Miami, MOON ROCKET (real name RAFFAELE SCOCCIA) is an Italian Producer/DJ and also an accomplished Piano and Hammond Organ player. He has been making some big waves over the last few years with stand out releases on labels such as DEFECTED, SOULFURIC, DEEPVIZIONZ, MOOD FUNK, NERVOUS, FOLIAGE and of course his own label MOON ROCKET MUSIC.

PAULA is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and is a classic artist in all senses. She possesses the kind of vocal instrument that brings honesty and vulnerability to any musical story that she chooses to tell. PAULA has a long long list of musical collaborations including working with ANGIE STONE, INDIA ARIE, ERIC BENET, ROBERT GLASPER, THE NEPTUNES amongst many others and also features on REEL PEOPLE’S forthcoming album in 2021, LOVE2.
