Mir Mukhtiyar Ali was born on the 1st of August 1972 in a small village called Pugal on the North West frontier of India in the state of Rajasthan. He is from the semi-nomadic Mirasi Community which hails from the Thar Desert. Mukhtiyar represents the 26th generation of this humble community which has successfully kept alive the oral tradition of Sufiana Qalam.

We love when music tells a story. We love it more when music completes a story. Two anguished hearts caught in the woes of love attempt to translate their hurt in their art. Their creativity transports them to a plane where they connect again. A plane forged by music, dance and a common intensity of emotion. An original rearrangement of Mehdi Hassan and Ahmad Faraz’s ghazal “Ranjish Hi Sahi” frames and feeds the story.

While going on the train to Bikaner for the Kabir Yatra there in 2012, Bindhu and I worked on this she had set to tune. Naach re mero man nat hoy, written by Indian mystic saint poet Kabir talks about a cosmic dance thats happening between you and the elements. This was our first performance.

Folk Masti is an Indie/Folk-Pop band from Mumbai. A group combining Indie tunes with folk elements and has compositions which convey positive message from 'Real Life Stories' to society with their Mastiful beats. Each member has different tastes which makes the band's sound unique and catchy. Apart from that, their sound, of course, has some masti, some folk poetries, world music and lots of improvising.
USP - Foot tapping Music with Simple Lyrics yet Deep Meaning of Joyful Life, Storytelling, Interactive Session with Audience & Folk Poetries.

Highlights of Band -
- We got featured on Music Mojo Season 6 show for Kappa TV in 2018. We have played 6 songs on the show and was the best experience being on one of the popular show. 
- We were Invited as TEDx Speaker in Pune and spoke on 'The Potential of Independent Music' in 2019.
- Our 1st Full Length Album 'Jadoo ki Chhadi' was produced by Crowdfunding Project where we have raised around ₹2 lakh.
- Also we got featured on Cover of Spotify's 'Fresh Finds India' Playlist on our latest Release - Kahaniya.
- Band has been playing across the Country from Public Events to Festivals to Prestigious Venues like Kala Ghoda Art Festival (Mumbai) , Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre(NMACC), Rann Utsav (Gujarat), Ranthambore Festival (Rajasthan), Prithvi Festival (Mumbai), Chikoo Festival (Bordi) etc.....
