Life on the road is a truly unique experience. While globetrotting, one gets to experience a different cross-section of life in each passing city and with every person met. It was from his tours and travels around the world that Antillas drew inspiration for his solo album 'Human Frames'.
 
Antillas wanted every song on this album to be like a still frame - a moment in time that captures all of the different people, artists, and experiences he's encountered while on the road and which somehow struck and enriched him, all seen through his eyes. If one had to pick one word to describe 'Human Frames', it would be "eclectic". A cursory glance at the tracklist reveals an exceptional array of different vocalists, collaborators, and musical influences. The scope of the album is impressive, and every style between large-venue trance anthems, big-room bass, dubstep, and progressive house is covered.
 
On the vocal side, Antillas enlisted heavyweights such as Christian Burns, Lady V, Chris Madin, Jenson Vaughan, and Fiora, who each offer their very own touch to this record. Together with his studio partner Dankann, Antillas brings several massive tunes aimed squarely at the dance floor.
 
With 18 breathtaking songs, 'Human Frames' is an outstanding achievement. By the time you listen to the acoustic version of 'They Took It All' (with Anki's stunning voice), you'll understand what a journey this album must have been. Different frames —all handpicked and glued together by Antillas.

Cape Town, South Africa -- for some, it's one of the most remote locations on earth, practically the stuff of legends. For Nate Raubenheimer, the tip of the southernmost African country is home. Armin van Buuren has said of the man, "Everything he touches turns to musical gold." Really, there can be no stronger endorsement, nor can there be a statement more accurate.

His is a classic tale -- inspired at the age of 8, it wasn't long before his life's journey led him to audio engineering school, and ultimately, to the largest festivals in the world. Protoculture's fans are filled with an almost feverish adoration, the kind of hard-earned reputation that only someone with genuine talent can enjoy. Success hasn't been all roses for the producer, however, as his hometown is one of the worst spots to travel from for an internationally touring DJ.

'Music Is More Than Mathematics' is an appropriate title for this exceptional album, and there's absolutely no formula for what Protoculture does. If "awesome" could be bottled into a jar, it would be this record. Finding better descriptors is as pointless as trying to compete with his musical talents. 
Even though each record radiates the artist behind the controls, Protoculture was able to attract talented producers, songwriters, and vocalists to help realize this record. Christian Burns, Johnny Yono, Max Graham, Jennifer Rene, and Tricia McTeague are some of the multitalented collaborators that made 'Music Is More Than Mathematics' possible, and their respective contributions seem to come at the precise time they're needed in this musical journey.

Certain albums defy conventional logic, and certain sounds are so transcendental that it's hard to see "trance" as anything but the right term. This is a special release, and one that covers as much territory as Protoculture's frequent trips around the globe.

As we look to the stars today, we see ancient ripples of light that have travelled for light years to meet our eyes, from orbs of gases that may well be extinguished. Cast your vision in...

Every element of every breath that was ever taken on earth is still in circulation right now in some combination or another. From the dinosaur that passed wind, to Albert Hoffmans heavy panting whilst riding his bike, you, and I are constantly respiring throughout our whole bodies and back out to into the body of the world and everything in it. A constant ripple inward and out that will continue for eternity.

In a blink of geological time, 900 years, Ancient sunlight in the form of coal was found in Europe and asia and busily extracted and burnt adding to the intensity of agricultural practices that have allowed our obese populations to balloon epically out of synch with nature.

The abundance of human food supply was, until the past few hundred years, largely determined by how much sunlight hit the ground. This is shown by our equators that are naturally teeming with life and how our poles are relatively devoid of natural life.

Every life form on the surface of this planet is here because a plant was able to gather sunlight and store it, and something else was able to eat that plant and take that sunlight-energy in to power its body.

We are therefore, all ultimately made out of sunlight. And maybe you don’t know you're a star, but you should.

Welcome to the 10th release from Bumble. This album stretches the musical expanses, to deliver a positive 10 songs, heavy with organic instrumentation and lathered with sub and squelchy frequencies. This balance of tracks delves through the deeper downbeat realms of the concept whilst also providing up beat and bright funk inspired dance floor treats. 
All compositions, instrumentation, percussion, vocals and stories have been written and played/sung by Max Von Bumble apart from the additional contributions by Matthew Ashbolt on bass guitar (Track 4, 10) and additional percussion contributions by Borja Valls (Track 2,3,6,7,8).
