𝗠𝗼 𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗼𝗯 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗢𝗠𝗢 𝘅 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲 𝘅 𝗠𝗔𝗙 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺

One big name that has made our sound and community grow to where it is today must surely be Mo Jakob. He has supported us since the beginning and we are always grateful for that.

At our first online stream in May 2020, he supported us in raising money for the Rotterdam food bank.

𝙈𝙤 𝙅𝙖𝙠𝙤𝙗
Mo Jakob (Richard Nazier) is a versatile, ambitious DJ from Rotterdam. His passion for music soon started because of the overdose of music that could be seen on TV channels like MTV at that time. He regularly saw video clips of Snow, Wu Tang and Michael Jackson. At home, only Bollywood music was played. At the age of 12, his interest in playing music began, mainly at home. After years of development, he finally went public with his talents. He started spinning when he was about 12 years old. He experimented with mixing records in his room all by himself.

After performing as a DJ for various hip-hop acts, it was time to expand. In 2013 Mo Jakob started his adventure as a club DJ. He managed to spin in places like 013 (Tilburg), Melkweg (Amsterdam), Paard van Troje (The Hague), Viproom (Rotterdam) and Club Bed (Rotterdam). In 2014 he managed to establish himself in the night world of Rotterdam under the name DJ Salesman. This way he could be found regularly in Twentysix, Bird and BAR in Rotterdam, among others. He also managed to secure a spot as resident DJ of the successful club night CHIPS. At the end of 2015 he chose to change his name to Mo Jakob.

Our dear friend Moody Mehran came to play at our first online stream back in May 2020, big thanks to him and all the other dj’s that played that day to raise money for The Food Bank Rotterdam. In total we collected about 1800 euros.


𝙈𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙈𝙚𝙝𝙧𝙖𝙣
Labeling Mehran as a DJ is a difficult task. Mostly because he walks a quite individual path when it comes to his musical inspiration. This inspiration isn’t driven by a single style or musical genre. Although his roots as a DJ derive from the love for Chicago House, his focus nowadays ranges most of the (electronic) music spectrum. All the variables in his taste do have one major thing in common; finding and sharing real, authentic and exceptional records that have, or will, stand the test of time. Over the years he developed an eye to find those outstanding records.

“Melek Bahçe is a 24 year old Cypriot filmmaker and visual artist based in Rotterdam. She is currently completing her Master's study in Lens-based Media, at Piet Zwart Institute. Her artistic practice is focused on making films that explore ways of telling mythological and metaphysical stories through constructing miniature sets and creating puppet characters. She is interested in investigating anthropological questions through speculative fiction by world-building and puppetry animation.”
