Phil Weeks is a house music purist.  Whether DJing or producing, the Parisian with the huge personality delivers raw beats influenced in equal measure by classic Chicago house and nu-school French flair, underpinned with a hip-hop attitude. In the studio Phil is dedicated to classic hardware like Akai’s MPC 3000 sampler and Roland’s TR909 drum machine and his long running Robsoul Recordings also defines him as one of the most skilled label heads in underground house music. 
Very productive, Phil has released more than 250 tracks and remixes since his debut in 2000, working with labels including 2020 Vision, Music For Freaks, Brique Rouge, Detour, Adult Only and his own Robsoul, which is responsible for the majority of his original output.  Phil’s work can also be found in the collaborations Fries & Bridges (with Hector Moralez on “Forever This”), PS Project/Bubba Beats & Kid Piston (with DJ Sneak) and Ladybird ('Searching4Love' and 'Natural High'). 
Production highlights include Phil’s three albums ‘Love Affair’ (2011), ‘Yeah I Like That’ (2003) and ‘Raw Instrumental’ (2012), alongside style-defining singles ‘Hypnose’, ‘It Put Me Well’ and ‘All Day Every Day’.  The music has been heavily supported by international dance press including achieving accolades such as MixMag’s and De-Bug’s ‘Album Of The Month’, while DJs ranging from Danny Howells and Yousef to Mark Farina and DJ Sneak consistently play his tracks. 
These last two years he released 'The Art of Sampling' and a three volumes compilation of 90s house classics, 'Crate Diggin'. He also released really effective tracks such as 'Show Your Love', 'It's the Inside That Counts', 'Bad Chance Went in Thru My Mind' or 'Live At Palladium' (that you will find on this new LP).
Behind the decks, Phil has racked up enough air miles to take him around the world several times over, with appearances at the world’s leading house clubs - Sankeys, Watergate, Pacha or Kristal are all regular haunts, alongside his Paris residency ‘Get Underground’ at the infamous Rex Club.

For Daniel Leseman & Junktion (Hans Peeman), successful producers on their own merits and friends since childhood, a collaboration was inevitable. Their house sound infused with disco and a lot of funk has been proven to be very infectious.

After the infamous Dam Swindle signed them to their Heist imprint and released the booming Kill Frenzy EP their name was established firmly to a broad and quickly growing audience. The result was requests for DJ sets across Europe, the America’s & Australia with personal highlights including Glastonbury, LoveBox, Concrete Paris, Output New York, Club Space Miami, Claire and De Marktkantine in Amsterdam.

Their first vinyl release as Fouk, on their own Outplay Records was met with great enthusiasm, the brilliant reactions to ‘Stuff Your Dad Liked’ and ‘Cat Lady’ propelled Fouk and Outplay firmly into the scene as the ‘one to watch’. Since then they’ve released EP’s on Room With A View, The House of Disco and Razor-n-Tape and made a string of strong remixes for the likes of Reel People, CAPYAC, Close Counters, Kraak & Smaak, The Jungle Giants, Smoove & Turrell, Groove Armada, The Brand New Heavies, Joyce Muniz, Luke Million, Dave Lee and Mayer Hawthorne.

After releasing ‘Release The Kraken EP’ featuring Thumpasaurus on The House of Disco, ‘Truffles EP’ on Heist Recordings in 2019 and two EP’s on their own Outplay offshoot ’24 Carrot’, they returned again on Heist in 2021 with ‘Blue Steel EP’, continuing to build on the sound they have evolved throughout the years with a new impulse of creativity. In 2022 saw their well received 'Paradise EP' released on established Bristol-based label Shall Not Fade.

Beyond The EDIT

From humble beginnings of a quiet English market town, his passion for soulful dance music has taken him to play alongside many of the finest UK and International house DJ’s. Brought up on a diet of weekly radio shows from Kiss FM DJ's Paul 'Trouble’ Anderson and Bobbi & Steve providing the perfect education jump starting the soon to follow insatiable thirst for the 1000's and 1000's of records in his collection. Music ethic has always been to keep an eye on the new but never forgetting the old and this is representative of his DJ sets; where you will hear upfront tracks alongside those rare 1993/94 dubs and house and garage belters.

DJ wise, one quarter of the London's Soulfulbeats DJ collective who has provided the capital with some of the best soulful party moments, playing alongside the talents of Sean McCabe, Groove Assassin, Phil Asher and Craig Smith, but also guesting at many of the UK's finer house music events alongside the likes of Louie Vega and Paul ‘Trouble' Anderson. 

Young family life has meant easing off the musical gas for a bit, but in the meantime check out his music channel @melly_melv_records and enjoy the mix which digs deep into his vinyl collection.

Nail’s first gigs as a DJ were at school, offering to save the school money instead of booking the local mobile disco.  He played for free, spinning early house classics (and the odd Erasure remix). It's in his bones... 
He eventually started playing the clubs in his hometown of Nottingham in the early 90s, including sets at the legendary DiY events at places like The Marcus Garvey Centre.  His first release came on the DiY comp Strictly 4 Groovers on WARP records in 1993, the now classic track Cassiopeia. The Beeston EP followed in 1994, the first of a number of EPs for DiY, as well as his debut album Big D’s Lounge in 1996. A remix for Inner City was also a highlight of this busy mid 90s period. Nail has since had records and remixes with Classic, Robsoul and Mosaic among many more, including his own label 89:Ghost, started in 2014. 
After taking time out from house music to focus on Bent, with Simon Mills, he returned to DJing in mid 2010s, playing all over Europe at venues such as Fabric, Tresor and Metronome.
He has new tracks coming out soon on labels such as Bid Musik, Groovphoria and Odour Recordings, and it's with great pleasure we welcome him into the SB guest mix series.

I promised back in August my return show would be an artist spotlight on Ron Trent. Little did I know then Phonox London were going to book him for their 8th birthday last weekend so it seemed only fitting to make this show happen tonight.
2 hours of Ron jams, remixes and collaborations which in only 2 hours only gives us time to scratch the surface of a man who has such a vast catalogue of music.

Frankie Foncett, is considered by many in dance music to be a pioneer and one of the most technically gifted Dj"s and Remixers of his generation. 

Having gained a stella reputation aged just 16 in mid 1985. 

Frankie would soon be one of the first dj"s in europe to bring the New York style of long overlaying of records to club sets. 
While working the EQ and using a Reel To Reel for custom edits. 
Equally able to blend electro,soul and club music. 

In 1988 he became the 
Head buyer @ the seminal Black Market Records in Londons Soho.

In that position he helped set the pulse of the city"s taste. And is widely credited with forging a now legendary moment in Music. HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!

He has mixed or edited or A&R dozens of classic records. And one of the few dj in the world to played alongside golden era legends Jam Master Jay or icons like Danny Tenaglia.  

During the 90"s Frankie held the position of resident dj @ The Ministry Of Sound. For 3 years on Saturday nights that was of of the most explosive places to hear new music. 

He was instrumental in breaking countless artistes and records during this period. Including Daft Punk among others. 

Between 95 & 98 Frankie set an incredible standard for other djs"s to follow in terms of working the Ministry"s main room. 

And though humble, it is a fact that this is still the most talked about period of the club.

He is now highly revered among his peers, and continues spin at special events worldwide. Look
