FONIKO has risen quickly on the global EDM stage. Based in Sydney, the international DJ/Producer duo are known as purveyors of finely crafted, extraterrestrial house music beats: be it inside the studio or from behind the decks.
 
FONIKO was one of only three Australian acts, alongside Dirty South and Tommy Trash, who performed at the infamous Ultra Music Festival 2012 in Miami, joining 180,000 partygoers to perform alongside Tiesto, David Guetta, Afrojack, Skrillex and Fatboy Slim to name a few. Foniko continued to make an impact throughout Miami Music Week with a number of performances during the Winter Music Conference.
The duo were again well received in the USA after their last series of shows, where Washington DC’s ‘The City Paper’ described Foniko as a Mythical Beast; “One brain and four hands”.
 
FONIKO have become known for their larger than life sets that take their audience on an epic journey through space and time, seamlessly carving through the four corners of the house music world. Their ability to instinctively remix tracks live, is what contributes towards their signature sound: big, raw, spontaneous and unrestrained.
The last US/European tour spread the Australian duo’s sound across the USA, Greece, Spain & Cyprus, returning to Australia to later open for Erick Morillo on New Year’s Eve in Sydney. Regularly travelling around Australia and now the world, Foniko have recently handed the decks over to the likes of Laidback Luke, Dirty South, Ian Carey & Ron Carroll to name a few.
 
Comprised of Aidan Bega and Harry Nathan, the pair have both been heavily influenced by a wide spectrum of musical genres, with this translating across not only to their live performances but their production work as well. With a hit track on high rotation on Australian radio – a remix of Radio Ink’s ‘Who We Are Tonight’, and a series of original tracks set for release over the summer, including the much anticipated ‘Exile’, the dynamic versatility demonstrated in their studio productions are what seem to define the FONIKO sound – ever evolving, drawing upon whichever influence that feeds it, however never ceasing to be definitively HOUSE music.
This Summer, Foniko have been invited back to Mykonos, Greece, for a summer residency at the iconic Paradise Club.
