'Jesus Is Watching' is Fonome's latest release, coming out in July on his own FONOS.

Fonome, formerly part of Seville’s legendary Union Records, is a well known figure of the Spanish underground scene, mixing a blend of Techno, Electro and darker sounds in his productions. With his latest release, JESUS IS WATCHING, Alfonso uses music to talk about humanity's duality: do we believe in the almighty gods and own the knowledge of truth, or do we believe in aliens and watch a lot of 90's movies and are therefore influenced by this imaginary?

The whole album is a mix of ambient, Electronica, Techno, Electro that conceptually are expressing Fonome's anger, doubts, thoughts. For example, Charlatan (the album's first single), is an attack to failed politicians and their actions. In the tracks you can hear samples of different speeches used to show the negative impact these are having on our society. 

The LP is a solid collection of tracks inspired not only by the philosophy behind the various concepts but also by Fonome's life working in the port amongst machineries, industrial equipment etc, that clearly are having an impact on the sound palette Alfonso has used whilst producing the tracks.

'Jesus Is Watching' comes out on July on FONOS. Keep an eye on the singles.

En el panorama musical desde 2001, el DJ y productor sevillano Fonome no ha parado de moverse. Con una serie de producciones pesadas a sus espaldas y una presencia cada vez mayor detrás de la cabina de DJ, Fonome está obteniendo rápidamente apoyo e interés de la escena con un enfoque cada vez mayor en sus producciones y selección de pistas.

Casi dos décadas detrás de los platos han permitido tiempo suficiente para desarrollar una comprensión profunda de la curación musical, mientras que el crecimiento y el ajetreo continuos han cosechado muchos beneficios dentro y fuera de los platos; ya sea haciendo ritmos en un estudio o compartiendo stand con Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola y Eduardo de la Calle.

Fonome follows up his debut release on his own label FONOS, with a second round of tracks centring on psychedelic techno rhythms.

"Another Psychedelic Afternoon" lunges in with minimalistic percussion, acidic 
bass lines and radio voices. The progression of the track keeps one moving while 
the fluctuation in the velocity and warmth of the sound keeps the explorative 
side of the acoustics and rhythm flowing. "Performer" switches the mood into a 
darker tone with rolling waves of industrial synths creating a contrasting groove 
between high speed lighter synths and heavier drum and bass rolls before the 
second part of the track reshapes the track into more minimalistic and 
aggressive dance floor weapon.

Orbe jumps on the remix tip by reshaping Another Psychedelic Afternoon into a 
break beat and industrial infused hurricane of a track. The pitch changes and 
phases of various sounds provide for a perfect flowing rhythm. RNGD takes on 
Performer by adding further minimalistic tones to the second part of the original track and elongating it with extended rhythm and swing.

Another Psychedelic Afternoon

On the musical scene since 2001, Seville based DJ and producer Fonome has not stopped making moves. With a number of machine heavy productions behind his belt and ever-growing presence behind the DJ booth, Fonome is quickly garnering support and interest from the scene with increasing focus shown for his productions and track selection.

Nearly two decades behind the decks have allowed for ample time to develop a deep understanding in musical curation, while the ongoing growth and hustle has reaped plenty of benefits on and off the decks; whether it would be beat making in a studio or sharing the booth with Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola and Eduardo de la Calle.

As a previous clerk behind Seville’s legendary Union Records store, he currently occupies a job at the port of Seville where the industrial environment shines influence on his recordings and promotes the merging of learnt history of the music scenes with day-to-day work mechanics and engineering of commercial shipping economy. Fonome’s productions often relay and contrast elements between the two and form a bass heavy, atmospheric and acidic synth laden grooves that may as well be as easily plaid at a port or a record store or any other space that may be as open to create sound as to take it in too.
