So a project which started out as the original 'Kratos - Blowtorch', along with remixes from Tommy Badman & Dubious being released on Foot Long Records, soon ended up in 19 tunes (from artists all round the world) being used for a release that would give profits to an important charity in MAP Charity (mapcharity.org) in Leeds, which specialises for the last ten years in helping children who have trouble accessing mainstream schools from ages 11-16 access courses:

For south coast based Jungle/Drum & Bass artist Reddeye it has been a slow rise. After turning his back on the scene over a decade ago it wasn’t until the post apocalyptic haze of constant quarantine & lockdown that he decided to renew his vows and continue his love affair with the beats & breaks that he was missing.

With a particular love for all things jungle, Reddeye forgot nothing of his talents & was quickly offered residencies with some of the biggest hitters on the scene, including Rough Tempo, Goat Shed & Bloc2Bloc.

We have a special mix for you all on this very special Wednesday !

Its good friend and Foot Long Producer King Chuga (https://soundcloud.com/king_chuga) !

I met King Chuga at a Retro Trax festival around 10 years ago, when me and MC Cox had heard he had also done a winning mix in a competition to get a set at Bowlers for a Retro Trax night and hunted him down there.

We had also listened to two of his mixes around that time, I must have listened to both these mixes 100`s of times.

Both these mixes are made up of tracklists by Raving Rod, who is King Chugas partner, and a jungle afficionado in her own right !

King Chuga has been a great help to me in my jungle career so far, and this mix shows why its important to have good people around you if you want to progress, as the mix is really good ! :)

Been DJing since 1995, mainly Drum & Bass and Jungle but have held down residencies at various House/Hard House nights in and around Oxford from 1997 to 2002. And how are you all doing on this very special Wednesday ?

We have a special mix from Foot Long Records friend in the prolific mixing master of Pearsall (https://soundcloud.com/sonicrampage) .

I first came across Pearsall a few years ago a few days after I had been to a Bangface Weekender and was heading down to Somerset to paint some rooms in a farm down there, and was looking for mixes to play whilst I was working. Pearsall provided me with a shed load of daily mixes to get me through my time there, and it really helped, cheers man !

Pearsall currently resides in Berlin, and is a mixer on both vinyl and digital. His Soundcloud page has 245 tracks on it, mainly mixes of all sorts of genres and all artist mixes and series of mixes. He also has his own blog, which he updates reguarly here: https://sonicrampage.org/blog/ .

He created his own special 4-track EP titled `Squat Rocking EP` last year, which was a joint project with him and A.B. where he marked 25 years in the game through this. It has a plethora of samples influenced by all the music he has loved over the years within it, which gives the EP its own unique sound and character.

I have to say that I do not know of any DJ mixer that has put the sheer volume of specific, well thought out recorded mixes on their Soundcloud page that compares to Pearsall. Hats off you to mate, you have created something special there, bigup !!

Cash Bailey is active on both the online and real world DJ mixing scenes, with him recently playing at CODE in Manchester alongside heavyweights Loxy & Antagonist. Inssssiiidddeeeeee this Wednesday FootprintZ sessions with the man like Barney ! 

Barney is the bossman in charge of Keighley’s Silly Sunday events, he started his DJ life playing rock and metal in pretty much any rock bar that would have him. He moved on to playing regular nights at Bradford’s Gas Works and then Trap door.

Barney started learning to mix around 10 years ago and started out playing Electro Swing and Ghetto Funk and went on to set up charity event Silly Sunday at the Cricketers in Keighley aiming to raise money for local mental health charities and give local DJs a platform to come and show their skills More recently he’s been spotted shelling down D&B and Hardcore at Shipley’s Wave events while also having a residency on Hardcore Vibes Radio where he’s reignited his childhood love of Happy Hardcore and UK Hardcore and the 
occasional live stream playing the harder end of things for the likes of Often Pompen and In Me Gut.

With Barney you never know what you’re going to get, his music tastes and influences are eclectic, spanning metal, punk, ska, electro, hip hop, breakcore, crossbreed, hardcore, you name it. This mix is showcasing his love of the more heavy side of dance music with some Christmas treats thrown in for good measure, expect kickdrums !

We have a special guest mix by Foot Long Records friend Deborah Jane.

I met Deborah in Beatherder last year whilst hanging out with Beatherder Tim, who I also met there a few years before Deborah.

I asked her to do a mix for Foot PrintZ, and its boss we have finally got one out of her to put on here ! :) Cheers Debs !

Deborah Jane 

Deborah has been into dnb since the early 90’s after listening to LTJ Bukem’s logical progression album. She started DJing vinyl when she moved to Manchester whilst at University, it was only really a hobby back then. Deborah loves going to dnb events around the country & attends many festivals. She took a break from DJing when she had her children but then bought her first pioneer controller & loved it, DJing has progressed somewhat since, moving from playing in the kitchen. Deborah has played warming up at major nights including headliners Jumping Jack Frost, Bryan Gee & Kenny Ken. Played back to back with Bloc2Bloc’s Jack Banner, This past years been busy for Deborah, DJing across Manchester at various clubs including Kabel, Antwerp Mansion at the Breadshed & appears regularly on Manchesters underground drum and bass radio show Bloc2Bloc.

Deborah also plays monthly for an event called ‘Liquid lounge’ a 100% only liquid drum and bass event at the Old Abbey Tap house in Hulme. 

She hosts her own radio show ‘Sabores de la musica’ (musical flavours)  fortnightly on Saturdays 9pm uk time on Barcelona City Fm. Tonight Deborah’s guest mix is darker than her usual sets so it’s a little bit out of her comfort zone, very different to her usual liquid sets . Enjoy. Xx

Hi all

So a project which started out as the original 'Kratos - Blowtorch', along with remixes from Tommy Badman & Dubious being released on Foot Long Records, soon ended up in 19 tunes (from artists all round the world) being used for a release that would give profits to an important charity in MAP Charity (mapcharity.org) in Leeds, which specialises for the last ten years in helping children who have trouble accessing mainstream schools from ages 11-16 access courses:

An absolute cracker of a remix I think we can all agree, with the whole track sounding very close to the original yet with lots of interesting, added elements that are most certainly not like the original. Lovely uses of breaks and bass lines and bigup the one like Su3-Ject for this !

Music has always been a big part of my life. My mates and I used to save to get tickets to go to raves across the UK. We wanted to mix music right away and Technics were well out of our reach, so I got some copper rods used for arc welding and flattened the ends so that they could be inserted into the underside of 2 hifi record players; this way we could increase and decrease the speeds on the motors and beat match. I then saved for some 1210's which took me about a year, and mixed anything I could get my hands on. I used money I made from music to study, and took a break to also focus on my family. Upon returning I found that I still had a massive love for D&B. Technology and accessibility for artists and listeners is now awesome!

Big up Foot Long Records for support and keeping the vibe alive!
