Beaming in from Tokyo with the kind of deadly new bass configurations to fully shut down a dance, Sneaker Social Club are very proud to present a five-strong shockout from T5UMUT5UMU.

You might have caught the breakthrough producer bringing their wayward signals to Hakuna Kuala for their debut 12” Sea Of Trees, but a dive into their Bandcamp shows a prolific studio head turning out beats with laser focus and unstoppable flair. Messing with the physical essence of Gqom, Dubstep, Grime, Trap, abber and more besides, the T5UMUT5UMU sound flexes between styles to make up its own soundsystem language, and this new EP on Sneaker is the perfect demonstration.

Deadly square wave bass punching into the dead of night, granulated speech patterns and whipcrack drums, grimey flute stabs and dramatic percussive rolls all spill into the soup at various points and the mood remains heavy at all times, but it’s never morose. The drops are too fiery to keep your head down, and there’s space for more than just sullen sonics (check the rousing melodic refrains hovering over the tumbling taiko drums on ‘Ikusa’ and you’ll see what we mean).

This kind of inventive progression of the bass music idea is exactly what Sneaker is built on, and it’s our pleasure to bring it to your ears.

Over the last thirteen years, DJ Phil has evolved from a protege and student of the late  to one of the most ambitious core members of Chicago's Teklife collective. While he contributed to many iconic releases like DJ RASHAD's 'Double Cup' and produced iconic remixes for Machinedrum or Scratcha DVA, DJ PHIL did not release a lot of solo projects outside of rare EPs for Nightslugs or Ghettophiles + appearances on Moveltraxx ' Street Bangers Factory compilations. His new 'Boarding Pass : Prelude To The Flight' has everything you could dream of from a DJ PHIL EP: epic battle tracks, club ready beats, lush synth and vocals with soul and jungle influences fusing Chicago's rich history of house music with more modern juke/footwork.

Based between Athens and London, Madam X’s debut EP ‘HOMECOMING’ honours the multi-disciplined artist’s musical roots in the UK, merging Dubstep, wobbly Bass, moody Techno, and playful club-driven aesthetics.

“I’m super pleased to share the product of many late-night studio sessions, Zoom calls, B2B voice memos and football-field recordings,” says Madam X.

“‘HOMECOMING’ is a back-to-the-roots call to the underground, celebrating everything I know and love about music, honouring my UK heritage and drawing influence from the styles and scenes that shaped my DJ journey. Each track is a collaboration with some of my favourite powerhouse producers. Couldn’t have done it without them.”
