Wellll shiiiiiiiiit, look here, motherfucking Mosam Howieson is in the building. About time, you say? Yes, you’d be right to ask, but you’re asking the wrong question, more like, what is time? Don’t stress, it’s merely a measuring device that the entire human civilisation revolves around. Anyway, Mos is here to teach you a thing or two about time and what you can do with it. 

I’ve been lucky enough to know Mos for many years. A true gentleman in the game, forever polite and tremendously respectful. A man of many talents, and most revolve around providing for the people. A culinary cowboy by day and dance floor destroyer by night, his exceptional work ethic shining through in both forms. Mos’ production has slowly but surely infiltrated ears across the globe, labels worldwide have been picking up what Mos has been putting down, and we’re better off for it. Mos' live performances are a full-body experience, from ground-breaking ambient soundscapes to rafter-breaking post-primitive drum loops, something to add to that bucket list of yours, whilst waiting patiently for his new album coming out later this year.  For those of you that don’t know Mos, this is the perfect place to start. 

Following with the theme of time, I think Mos has completely encapsulated his existence on this earth through this mix. You can hear him in his different stages of life and all the soundtracks that came with it. From hovering over a tape deck recording tracks straight from the radio, getting up early watching video hits, burning CDs on friend's computers, weeklong mp3 downloads from lime wire riddled with viruses on the family computer, all the way up to the first-time he downloaded fruity loops and set himself on this path, it’s all here and we’ve been invited along for the ride. All of this music holds such a special place in my heart as I was on a parallel path of musical enlightenment (except my productions never made it past a 4x4 loop on a cracked version of fruity loops) a musical diary if you will, filled with ideas, aspirations, and heartache, complete with dogged ears, doodles and torn out pages. On behalf of the people listening, thank you Mos.

By dj and producer Danimoto aka Daniel George, who has released music via Addition by Subtraction, Aedi Records and self-released the piece Analog Meditations. He works in the realms of House, Techno & Ambient. 

About my productions: I try to make the intention around my productions natural, almost sub-conscious - intention when producing music can get you into some tricky spots, where you aren’t really feeling anything but rather just forcing it. I was chatting to a friend the other day and he was showing me some of his music, it was so pure, authentic, i could tell it was a labour of love and i thought that’s when you make the best stuff, when you pour it all out, it doesn’t have to be hard, but it does have to be real.

About the mix: Dance floor direct stuff has an immediacy to it, when you are crafting something to be played at home, the reasoning changes, as if you almost want to be immersed in its temporality. For me these records recall a lot of the initial moments of connecting with something which validates an experience. 

Headspace when i made the mix: I’m not a fantastic sleeper, i’ve always had issues with that. I wouldn’t say i’m terrible, i mean i’ve survived but it does agitate me. If i can’t sleep, i’ll usually head to my studio to make or mix music. It’s always weird & somnambulistic but i feel at peace there and i’m never trying to make too much noise. In this case, i felt recreating some dream-state, slipping between moods and riding the very soft ebbs and flows of energy i get from mild insomnia.

As the old saying goes, good thing's come to those who wait. To give that statement some purchase I would like to rewind a few years. Back to before I started this thing, but just after I came up if with the concept, the person responsible for this mix was literally the second name I wrote down to ask for a submission. That person’s name was, and still is, Millú aka the mad hatter aka the silky bar kid aka the human shot glass. Millú’s importance in Melbourne has become solidified over the past few years, going from strength to strength to strength, like a skipping stone across an infinity pool, and she’s dead set (party) legend! 
 
She peaked my attention a few years ago when she played at one of the Max Graef parties at the Gaso we did (which she also helps run ~ bless) and she has firmly kept my attention since. Watching her do her thing, which in turn makes the punters do their thing, is a satisfying sight to say the least. From the depths of hugs to the vast expanse of the supernatural amphitheater, her spell is easy to notice and impossible to resist. I think she’s my most shazamed DJ on the planet - I look to her for a continues source of inspiration. She’s just that fucking good and this mix proves it. 
 
Taking a holiday from the chuggy breaky bleep, she has landed in this pure heavenly mix of lounge and street soul. This instantly takes me back to the good old days of the early 2000’s trip hop phase, (K & D sessions eat your heart out) which is like a pure bliss time machine for me - taking me back to a simpler time, with an air of arrogance attached to a clueless teenager (me), Millú aurally takes me on a beautiful trip down memory lane (which I’m sure will touch anyone who pays this mix a single bit of attention). Perfectly blended like the best milkshake you’ve ever had, perfectly executed like the best dive in Olympic history.

Hopefully my grandchildren will listen to this mix as much as you’re about to.

This week's Global Vibe Radio mix brings new musical formulas, as Spanish producer, DJ and live act Leiras digs through his interpretation of the classical sound of techno. 

Always committed to the music and with the ability to smoothly transmit the different levels of intensity, with a tireless study of the diversity of rhythms and the different genres within dance music, Leiras has grown to be one to keep an eye on in the international techno scene. 

Born in the north of Spain, he came across clubs like ‘La Real’ and ‘El Jardin’ in early 2000. Two clubs important to the history of techno music within Spain, and more so, also important to Leiras musical background, as they influenced him and his artistic career in a fundamental way.

Being the mind behind Ownlife, a record label focusing on the most visceral, hypnotical and sometimes experimental techno music, he created a home mainly for his own productions, but also a space with the freedom to express his own particular vision of dance music. With this in mind, Ownlife is also a platform to showcase Leiras favorites producers at the time.

As a DJ he is influenced by different styles in electronica, which clearly shows at the time when he propounds his own sound from the DJ booth. He always establishes a bridge in between the past – the purity of the first works of pioneer techno producers, and the future – visible in the advanced character of the vanguardist productions of different artists these days. 

This compromise with the continuous music digging, the one created in the past by authentic visionaries, is what inspired him to create the sublabel “SELD” based on one single concept; to perpetuate the legacy of some of techno’s pioneers, and bringing back the attention to music that keeps the pure character and commitment it was created with.
 
During the past years, Leiras work has brought him to clubs all over the world, from Europe to Asia and all the way to South America, playing at respected clubs and festivals.

Juho Kusti is a DJ / Producer / Radio Host from Finland. He is best known for his long running radio show, Deep Space Helsinki, which he started in 2009 with his friend Samuli Kemppi. Smooth transitions and rolling rhythms are the backbone of his sets that have taken him to clubs like Berghain, Tresor.Berlin (OFFICIAL) Cassette Club, Under Bron and Le Glazart to name a few. With 20 years of experience, he has also had residencies in Helsinki's Kaiku Club, Ääniwalli and Kuudes Linja before his move to Berlin in 2016. Although slow in production, some of the labels that have put out Juho's music include Semantica Records, MindTripRec and Jamaika Suk's Gradient. His latest venture in the field of techno is his own label No Future But What We Make which he runs with his long-time friend Ville Vähäsaari. With all this, Juho is keeping busy and continues to deliver quality time after time.

We’re very excited to present Duplicity 044 featuring a one hour and a half auditory voyage, filled with deft blends of deep, rolling techno cuts from Rotterdam based  up-comer AHIL.

AHIL is a techno DJ based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He loves to be on the dance floor surrounded by his friends and other like-minded techno addicts. After more than 5 years spending on that dance floor he decided to put his passion for techno into mixing and making music. Whenever he is not mixing himself, he is looking for new tracks, listening to other DJ’s and so on. You can say that he lives for the music. His sound can be described as a rolling, but with some deeper moments in between. He always aims for a musical journey, instead of just mixing his favourite tracks together.

As usual, turn up the volume and enjoy.

The Lady Machine is a veteran Brazilian artist with 20 years of experience under her belt purely as a vinyl DJ. Based on a more complex structure of rhythms with dark underground lines of synths and textures, The Lady Machine incorporates the spirit of techno in the twenty first century. She stands by a deep musical research and precise technique. Her versatile sets blend genres of techno in its many forms and when combined with her fast, furious but tight mixing it creates a perfect atmosphere with the dance-floor. “I never limit myself to one style. “A quality sound with attitude and always dance floor orientated are what I try to convey in my sets” she says. Following a hiatus from the techno community, over the past two years she has cemented her name in the Berlin community playing at the best events in the city and becoming a resident at the highly-rated event Pornceptual. Previously she has been at the forefront of the underground electronic scene in Brazil for many years, her skills have taken her around the globe over the past two decades including Asia, North America, Latin America and numerous tours of Europe with club and festival performances across the continent.
