To guide us through the next simulated experience; Passing Notes Radio boss and 1/2 of the great new label ‘Companion', Pjenné [Melbourne, AUS], shows us what a utopian existence can sound, feel and look like.

Follow on as she glides through the stratosphere, looking down on the lush greenery and crystal water that our earth effortlessly inhabits... occasionally looking up into the vast display of distant stars and planets, glittering across the stillness of outer space.

Pjenné beautifully illustrates the phenomenology of nature through tracks which touch on each element, whether that be the ethereality of air, the intricacy of water, the depth of earth, or just the pure warmth flowing through this immaculately thought-out audible narrative.

We couldn’t help but think this would be the perfect soundtrack for the day peace on earth is declared, where humanity sits back and appreciates a new world— where collectively, we love what grows, exists and dies.

This small blue dot is our home… our balanced oasis in the desert of space. Perhaps we need the ability to fly to see a different perspective - and we’re sure this will help.

A very special recording from our 10 years of MFM event at Fairfield Amphitheatre last September between Jamie and Lauren. It was beautiful to see two close friends throwing down tracks, lost in the music and the thing that they love. You know things are going well when an hour into their set, Jamie and Lauren both asked if we were recording the set. Yesterday was Jamie's birthday and we and Lauren felt it was the right time to release this mix, as a celebration of Jamie and his music. Time is but a mere measuring device, but never has time been more precious, time away, time to yourself, and time with loved ones. This particular time we have Prague-based magician Sasha Nevolin offering up a beautiful mixed bag of pure audible nourishment. Sasha delivers a pinball machine approach to an organised pandemonium-esque operation, bouncing around between all states of being with an overarching deep sense of joy. Wind the windows up and strap in.

The third offering in our mix series is a live recording of Priori and Cousin's dj set at Sustain Release 2024. Recorded on the last morning between 6am and 1pm on what was meant to be an ambient stage, it featured everything a 3 day festival closing set should. Eclectic picks, strange and emotional sounds, dubious transitions and a few feigned endings. Massive thanks to all the dancers, the Sustain staff (Aurora, Ash and everybody else who put their blood, sweat and tears into this), the music makers, the birds, the stars.

DJ Earl Grey & Steve have been hosting a monthly Wednesday date-night residency for over a year, sharing the sensitive, soulful, and deep cuts from their record collection. Their shared love for each other - as well as jazz, soul, ambient, and rock - forms the foundation of their Waxflower mix.

This year, they launched Tender, a 'third space' offering yoga classes, deep listening sessions, movie screenings, exhibitions, workshops, and Naarm’s smallest record store.
