The quality of the music and its potential to create layered worlds for its observers to immerse in fully is where Xaos puts their focus when playing. Xaos currently lives in Leipzig, where they worked from 2018 to 2022 as a booker and person in charge of the programming for mjut club. In 2020 Xaos launched their label Myriad, constantly developing their musical understanding further and manifesting and sharing their musical experiences through it. To perform and share more of their sound creations, they recently started their first live project, which operates under the name Xa✴︎s and is ever-evolving, changing and growing.

mjut hosted a residents showcase for the first time last week. due to server problems the stream was not available, but now you can re-listen to three hours of music played by Translucid, nZKT and Bunny Tsukino.

Growing up in Weimar, Xaos' interest in events of many kinds arose already very early in their life. They received musical education through learning how to play the clarinet and piano. At the age of 12 they found a special interest in electronic music. From then on they acquired their DJ skills through observing various DJs in and around Weimar. Due to their expanded musical understanding and the influence of their musically well-versed father, they started producing with Cubase at a young age. Their choice of music style varies a great deal as they feel comfortable playing anything from IDM, DnB, Psy, all other fast styles as well as Breakbeat, UK Bass, House and Disco. The quality of the music and its potential to create layered worlds for its observers to fully immerse in is where Xaos puts their focus when playing. Their love for bending and mixing genres and their ability to devote their full attention to their work often has them end up playing extensive listening sessions or prolonging the closing of evenings/events by putting their listeners in dreamlike states of timelessness. Xaos currently lives in Leipzig, where they worked from 2018 to 2022 as booker and person in charge of the programming for mjut club. In 2020 Xaos launched their own label Myriad, constantly developing their musical understanding further and manifesting and sharing their musical experiences through it. "I’m very happy to share this four hour recording from Deep Mind Music’s cosy December ambient sauna evening. Whilst playing I really felt part of the space with everyone, from the people sitting inside the sauna, to the friends playing chess, and the person tucked up with a book in the corner. I wanted to give something to all these different moments across the evening: as the set unwinds we drift between deep ambient, dreamy downtempo and even some vintage piano and jazz."

Based in London, Sybil has cultivated a distinctive emotional and transcendent style of DJing, as showcased across her sets which span from propulsive deep techno at clubs and festivals, to wistful ambient, sumptuous downtempo, and expansive drone within more horizontal settings. She runs the long-running ambient, drone and experimental mix series, Deep Mind Music.

It's an honor to welcome Melbourne's Alex Albrecht for the next chapter in our series, an artist whose work I've admired for so many years. There is such a sensitivity in Alex's music, a delicate handhold between feeling and movement that lives within each measure, and which Alex brings out with such profound and organic ease. The vast horizon of sound that Alex has built through his own discography and that of his tremendous label Analogue Attic, co-founded with Sean La'Brooy, has undeniably shaped the path I find myself walking today and I know many others would say the same.

Here Alex presents a story compiled from recent live performances and a companion to his newly released album "Hiriketiya", a soft-focus snapshot of a path leading home, a set rooted so firmly in a sense of place that one can't help but feel transported in its wake. Thank you Alex!

Traumburg x Dooorp x DeEtalage at Laak club in The Hague was a community driven gathering which playfully redefined a typical club night by showcasing sensory tingling local artists and body weaving frequency DJs and live acts. 
I was opening the dance room in old Traumburg manner: playing in the middle of the dance floor right in the sweet spot of the powerful  Kantarion soundsystem, trying to break the one direction habits into a more circular movement space. 

The research for the sounds in this set was intertwined with a broader exploration that has been with me all winter. Last fall, I received a request to produce a track for a compilation with a connection to space, as it was to be released in conjunction with a space research mission called scampi. So I searched for many pieces of music that contain a very specific space within themselves, since I didn't just want to look for "spacy" space sounds in the traditional sense, but rather wanted to understand the void in between. This search resulted in a collection of tracks that I wove into two exciting journeys at this event and at the opening of Säule at Berghain two weeks later. The second idea that went into the set was the search for tracks that bridge the gap between digital sound design and acoustic beats and instruments, blurring the lines between the two. One of my highest priorities in music is to feel the essence of live performance, as this is the moment when the music flows entirely on its own through the creator and is not forced to be conceived in the mind. The magick happens the moment we truly live in the now.
