At Overview Music we are exceptionally proud to present the next instalment in our curated LP series: Zone.

Last year’s Zone 1 was a VA compilation of epic proportions and we’ve really kept our foot on the gas for the sequel, delving into D&B’s underground to A&R some of the best talent around.

Zone 2 sees a veritable who’s who of up and coming artists, like En:vy, Cauzer and Offline, rubbing shoulders with some Overview stalwarts (hello again Gran Calavera!) alongside some of the scene’s leading lights, like Trex, Objectiv and Molecular.

Everyone’s brought their A game and the LP is, to put it mildly, packed to the brim with 21 absolute weapons. We could go on and on about it, but you should really just experience it for yourself. Prepare your ears and strap in for the rollercoaster that is Zone 2.

Solsan - Moon Child [Premiere]

Brazilian producer 'Bungle' returns to Thirtyone Records with his sophomore EP for the renowned British outlet for all things drum & Bass. Doc Scott curates the label closely and has selected four Bungle cuts that all have that same prolific vibe to them.

''Cocooned EP'' opens up with the sublime and dark title song. 'Cocooned' revolves around a savvy bass cut and Bungle's signature big drums. 'Distance' is a special piece with a gigantic pad at the centre of the song. 

The big and jazzy hats are compilmenting the rhythm nicely while splashes of FX are cleverly being used throughout. 
'Eclipse' is a nervous electronic cut with a thumping feel to it. Tech sounds, distortion and ethereal sounds
are moulded to a buldging piece of dancefloor music. On the last position of the 'Cocooned EP' tracklist we find 'Impulse'. This track stands for: huge drums, deep bass sounds and a very ominous atmosphere.

Lifestyle is very pleased to welcome back to the label bass-mangler extraordinaire Nami! This time joining forces with a fellow Russian; Kapha, an elusive producer from the underground making his first marks on the scene, and sizable marks at that! The two tunes smack of Nami's dark and experimental style, each having a distinctive sound that's certain to get the gun fingers & grimaces out! 

A-side Praxis is a cold slice of experimental tech; a minimal introduction drops into an ultra-dark, driving bass & break, that doesn't relent. The track channels the vibe of heavy industrial techno, while retaining an irresistible neuro groove through some clever bass & drum programming. Another really unique sounding tune from Nami that will stick out a set, in the best way, and have people fumbling online for an ID the day after. 

The flip, Transmitter, is another high-energy, reese-heavy banger. The core of the track is a repeating mid-bass reese riff, laid on top of huge sub stabs and swells. As the tune progresses the spectrum thickens out even further, with even more interesting bass movement, weird atmospheric objects and textures. The track is basically a masterclass in otherworldly audio & modern bass design, which is nothing less than expected from Nami, who is cementing himself as one of the main players pushing the envelope in underground drum & bass. The inclusion of Kapha on this release is super promising too, and as a new artist has really made an impression on us with these tracks, one to keep an eye on for sure!

We’re extremely lucky to be able to promote a wide range of international talent; and SNB054 is no different, coming to us from Serbian up-and-comer Nemy.   Having caught our eye through a series of well-crafted releases on Fokuz, Locked Concept & Terra Firma among others, he has established himself as one to watch in a flourishing Eastern European scene. Nemy - Voices

Our fantastical Finnish duo that is of course Askel & Elere, or Juho Kavasto and Sainey Gibba, return with a flourish in the form of the 4-track ‘Glass’ EP. While the pair have been busy both individually and collectively, netting releases on Hospital, Fokuz and Delta9, we warmly welcome them back to Soulvent. Reprising 2019’s ‘Yeah Alright’ EP - the pair continue to evolve their slick and sophisticated sound, with this EP another clear indicator of the undoubtedly bright future ahead of them.

The title track ‘Glass’ is calm and inviting; the soft pads welcome low-passed drums and a firm hi-hat. The detuned climax is a luscious roller, providing a window into what is to come. 

‘Envelop’ splashes open with screeching synths and digital noise. This thunderingly quiet build belches forth nothing short of a bowel-churning burst of driving low end and smooth vocal cuts, perfect for decimating any dance floor in your local vicinity. 

The ever so interestingly dubbed ‘Groke’ chirrups to life with it’s gnarled topline sounding like a warped pizzicato string section. Warming rhodes, brisk breaks and a fluid sub bass frame this experimental number with both style and grace. 

Rounding things off, ‘Twice’ is so nice they named it once, but you will need at least two listens to appreciate the mastery at work. Syncopated synths and misshapen, reversed vocals meet rumbling bass and collide amongst breaks caked in white noise.

Smashing into all good stores on the 4th of September, don’t miss this shatteringly smooth release from the hotly tipped pair that is Askel & Elere.
