Merca Bae Presents: Down Theory, the second instalment in the label’s artist-led curation series, arriving 13th November. Curated by Merca Bae, the compilation delves into the landscape of Downtempo Bass music, intertwining between Dancehall, Tarraxo, Breaks, and Reggaeton. 

Through this release, Merca Bae spotlights the wide scope of Downtempo music and its continued presence across global underground scenes. Over the past few years, club music has trended toward higher BPMs and relentless, fast-paced energy, but Down Theory offers a space to explore slower, weightier & sexier rhythms as a way to embrace slower, bass-driven music in a club environment.

The project features contributions from Chá Di Lirian, Grindalf, and Entrañas, alongside established producers styn and Faraonika, and introduces Unayo and Tempo Fino, who debut their first productions under new aliases. 

Down Theory offers a cohesive yet wide-ranging snapshot of contemporary low-end experimentation.

First track out is by Maringá's very own, Chá Di LIirian - ahead of the full release on the 12th November.

some of the Forbidden Society cuts reworked by some masters within the genre.The release opens with a hypnotizing ''The Clamps'' remix of the label anthem ''Street Justice''.The staggering drums work great with the bassline and intrusive synth blips. The emotive ambiancethat is introduced throughout makes for a great alternation. Second up is signature snare-man ''Donny'' who delivers a banging reword of Forbidden Society's BWM. Hardcore Drum & Bass music at it's finest,  it's all about the drums in this one. South African duo ''Counterstrike'' come up with a remix for ''Sellout''. This is a peak time rework, placing the emphasis on top notch drum-breaks and some funked out elements that  should strike a chord with lovers of the label. Hallucinator are reworking the ever so dark ''NYC Punk''. This fast paced theme is pumped up a notch with great care for the original. Label regular ''Katharsys'' does an adventurous reword of 'Skullcrawler' which stands out in originality. The pack is finished by S9 who creates havoc with his tremendous ''Outlaw'' remix. Forbidden Society Recordings at it's best with an undeniable all-star line up.Watch out for the part.2!

I have been working on those tracks after my To The Threshold Album, some of the tunes was in the process already while i did the previous album. You can expect from this release hard Drum & Bass tunes, again i have been trying to do my best on all of those tunes! And possibly best sounding as i can, as sometimes it was not easy at all to do the right sound. I added on this release also one more experimental kind of Drum & Bass, 4/4 track, would not say its a Crossbreed one, then Electro remix from my side project Pornothrasher, as i enjoy to do Electro too as many of you know. I asked MC Coppa to record for me vocals for the track that is on the EP, and need to say im really happy with the result, not the heaviest DNB track, but rolls really good and hard enough to kick your ass! The Rest is my solo i would say pure Hard Drum & Bass tracks, how i like to produce and to play! I hope you enjoy this release, again i tested it at gigs, and the tunes just went greatly, some of them some of you asked on the net already. Thank you so much, and buy the vinyl to keep them alive. release date should be end of October, 4 tunes on vinyl and 4 tunes as digital extra bonus tracks - if you buy the vinyl EP you get with it unique code where you can download the digital release of FSRECS 008 with the extra 4 digital only tracks, two weeks as usual the tunes on digital shops.
