The Ordeal

Here's a unique mix by the Belarus producer Pavel Ambiont, who performed at the last Unsound Krakow and Unsound Festival New York. Pavel is also known for his work with Pinch, included on the "Connections" CD. Asked to deliver an podcast, Pavel selflessly decided instead to showcase a range of Belarus producers, not only himself, in order to throw a light on this overlooked region of Eastern Europe. As the mix shows, the local electronic music scene is developing steadily, with the likes of i/dex, Parametric, Santych and Pavel himself moving here fluidly between dub techno, ambient pieces and much more. Dtekk (real name Jędrzej Dondziło) is a DJ, promoter and cultural activist from Białystok, Poland, who first stepped behind the decks in 2000 at the famed Metro club in Białystok. The originator, coordinator and program director of Up To Date Festival, he was also the co-founder of Technosoul collective and record label. Dtekk is the author of the Pozdro Techno slogan and the man behind the Salon Ambientu and Secret Location event series.

Dtekk is one of the most consistent and experienced DJs in Poland. His vinyl only sets feature a broad spectrum of what’s best in techno music on one hand, and on the other hand he’s an avid fan of ambient and experimental music. A special place in his repertoire is held by electro and italo disco. When DJing he aims at striking a balance between an authentic search for the deepest forms of artistic expression and passing on a love of music to the people.

During his career, Jędrzej has played clubs all around Poland. He has also performed at the most renowned Polish festivals like Unsound, Audioriver, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Up To Date, Open’er, as well as outside Poland, for instance in Berlin’s Berghain, Ohm and Suicide Circus, Gare Porto or in countries such as United Kingdom, Italy, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, and Slovakia.

"Under the Sign Saturn" is a show meant to be a personal interpretation of the state of melancholy by sound textures.

Earth Trax releases his debut album for Shall Not Fade with the breath-taking LP1.

LP1 takes influence from cold wave, applying gloomy chords onto House and Breakbeat, whilst including textures that might draw reference to early IDM. Earth Trax blends dreamy vocals, pads and melodies with striking rhythms, squawking synthesizers and strong bass lines throughout. The LP was recorded as an extension of some of the artists moodier singles on Shall Not Fade sister imprint, Lost Palms. It explores a more experimental approach towards House music, whilst drawing influence from some of his more downtempo style releases as Bartosz Kruczyński. LP1 features the stunning photography of Kasia Zacharko & graphic design of Kaja Kukuła.
