During the summer of 2013, the idea of creating a joint composition came up at a small friends gathering. The name of this formation got to be known as ‘Dubecticut’. After a few months, working in a common garage serving as their own home studio, they began to gain a growing determination and creativity. From summer of 2019 Dubecticut became to a single formation, because they have to live in different cities.

His goal is to create a new type of electronic music with a wholly different approach, using the combination of different styles of electronic music which touches people on a daily basis, and that also creates a new sort of relationship between people and music. Among his long term plans is the development of his live act productions, this is expected to raise their music to a new level and bond a tighter relationship with the audience. Live act production means a kind of ‘musical puzzle’ which is brought about by putting his own music together live thus creating a sensational vibration and buzz.

In the field of music, he relies on high quality music only; meaning that 100 percent effort is put into each and every soundtrack they make. His motto is therefore that ‘you ought to do your best at the level where you are and strive to keep developing yourself’. After university, he participated in a sound master training where he could learn all the necessary skills and techniques that would help him create music at a high level in the future.

This seminal EP release follows Forma’s remarkable recent live performance for venerated Montreal-based digital festival MUTEK. Always expanding its limits to subvert the expectations of the listeners, this spellbinding live show was in fact the first presentation of the Hollows EP project and marked the premiere of the four songs to be released on July 16. Following an enchanting inaugural offering from German electronica outfit Ameli Paul back in April, burgeoning Berlin-based imprint MEIOSOS now returns for its eagerly anticipated sophomore outing, welcoming Juan Hansen and Pablo Bursztyn – a.k.a. Forma – for another mesmerising label debut.

A stunningly crafted four-part package, replete with hypnotic modular soundscapes, ethereal toplines and succulent analogue experimentation, Hollow EP is the first extended body of work to be released from the Buenos Aires-based duo, and comes complete with a brace of eclectic remixes from esteemed house producers Nandu and Santiago Garcia.

Christening the release with the evocative title track Hollow, Juan and Pablo make their intentions known from the off, as they take the listener on an emotive and harmonic smoke-screened journey, accented by warped synthesisers, haunting vocals and a playful mixture of subdued four-four beats and elastic rhythmic triplets. Toying with aural imperfections and melodic disarray throughout, Forma’s work honours emotional ambiguity and harmonic dissonance, cultivating a sound that can be equally euphoric as it can be melancholic.

Within this ambiguity, Forma find a place to liberate themselves from instrumental boundaries, creating landscapes that value coincidence, intriguing sound choices and a degree of sonic unpredictability. The second original, Everytime, portrays an unusual kind of music that will, in its abstract layers and polyphonic structures, balance both the familiar and the surreal. Combining disputatious organ chords with avant-garde vocoders and arpeggiated instrumentation, Juan's electronic sound experience merges with the experimental spirit of Pablo's musical quest to create an eclectic journey that exhausts one mood at a time.

The flip sees the introduction of two of the most exciting producers on the underground house circuit, as Nandu and Santiago Garcia each step up to deliver their own unique interpretations of the formidable title track. First up to the plate is Argentinian-born, Valencia-based Garcia. Following a wealth of critically lauded releases on the likes of Innervisions, TAU and Exit Strategy over the past few years, the classically-trained producer digs deep to deliver the artier, more introspective of the two remixes, before handing the reigns to iconic Danish stalwart, Nandu, who closes out the remarkable package with a deep, melodic dancefloor groove, primed for the early hours.

His style is to be described somewhere between melodic techno and progressive House. Podcasts and sets are worked out intuitively and follow the energy of the day or of the crowd. Managed by progressive DJ Vouki, events by Foreground Music have to fit a certain criteria: melodic, addictive, timeless, movement provoking, and above all, they've got to be fun!

Generally aiming for the underground experience, Vouki's sets are creative and unique, often crossing between dark, tech and progressive house.

Having always been based in Sydney, Foreground Music first went public with back in the day at Bobby McGee's and The Pumphouse, but are catering much more for private parties in recent years.

Nowadays it's often behind the doors of some office,  warehouse party or someone's isolated abode where true music lovers gather to get down and lose themselves for several hours with Vouki and friends at the decks.

Foreground Music is always aiming to create an atmosphere where people are truly absorbed by the sounds that surround them. You can buy a drink anywhere across town, unfortunately you can't always treat your ears to tunes with real audio appeal.

If you like listening to music, rather than hearing it, then Foreground Music is for you.
