Primitive is a DJ, producer, and cultural figure from St. Petersburg. Damir began playing records with jungle and drum'n bass on TESTFM online radio. Today, having expanded his musical boundaries, he is a frequent guest in the clubs of the two capitals: K-30, Blank, Izich, Mutabor. In 2021, he performed at the Signal festival and was noted at avant-garde events by Roots United and Arma17. The artist is receptive to everything new and has a statistic sensitivity. His selection is a planet of imagination, hypnotic and enticing.

The multimedia artist and DJ from Siberia, resident of Beijing club “Lantern”, moved to Berlin in 2019 in order to merge their artistic and musical realms with the variety of sound presented in the city. Throughout their non-peaceful art life in Berlin, they have been spotted around such artists as Swan Meat, Metaraph, Antonia XM, DJ Fingerblast, AUCO, Happy New Tears and many more. 

As usual, Yulav provided us with multinational and multi-gender sounds, gluing the scenes nearer to each other. Their ideas of coexistence, unification of the forces, social and cultural integration were firstly introduced in a collaborative project “Widows Radio” in Berlin and now step-by-step migrating to LA, inclusively shifting the sound towards palm tree reality.

Originally from Siberia and a former resident of Beijing club “Lantern”, Yulav has moved to Berlin in 2019, where they worked as a curator of the former "Widows Radio" project, a migrant and queer radio located in the city. 
"Yulav uses the whole spectrum of an e-world culture varying from hip-hop, house, reggaeton, dubstep, footwork to trance, techno, gabber and breakcore, powdering the classics with a fair dose of the evolving genres. The application of the following approach brings to the attention the ideas of our coexistence, unification of the forces, social and cultural integration."

"Pusta Golova" means TETE VIDE in Russian, with a symbolic double-meaning on the word Golova that can also stand as Ruler

Originally from Siberia, Yulav moved to Berlin in 2019 and developed their musical spectrum around fast rythms and multi-genres sets, ensuring eyes-closed musical storytellings.

Using music as a voice for minorities, they worked as a curator for the former "Widows Radio" Project, a migrant and queer radio based in Berlin

Из дневника. Прослушивание записи Echo D…

Тик-так на часах. Прислушиваюсь к музыке: ее составляющие взаимодействуют так, что внимание занимает гипнотичность звука, а объем и мощь бита — проводники в ее лапы. Искажения мирные при всей энергетике, как будто полезные, цифровая вода во время жажды. Цифровой и настоящий ветер снижает жар. Треки берут минимализмом и простором, диссоциативными мелодиями, намеками на развитие одной-двух нот, хотя те стоят на повторе. И намека достаточно. Звуковые жидкие сферы не приветливо и не вражески облекают в себя тебя. Дамба из даба окружает. Все взлетает куда-то, утончаясь. Отделилась следующая ступень, наступил медленный этап, сознание аккуратно бросают туда-сюда из рогатки-гамака и ловят на мховые маты. Целебная поляна снова разгоняет свой ритм. Надолго ли?

Наш 63-й подкаст записал @primitiwe — петербургский диджей и резидент команды Roots United. Кроме этого Дамир занимается менеджментом артистов в пространстве K-30 и фестивале Present Perfect Festival.  

Диджеингом артист увлекся вместе с тем, как начал собирать винил с джанглом и драм-н-бейсом. Эфиры на TESTFM и сеты в локальных клубах переросли в выступления на больших фестивалях вроде Outline и Signal, а сегодня Дамир стал одним из самых гастролирующих резидентов Roots United. 

Селекция Primitive — это мутация разномастных жанров электроники, которые кажутся несовместимыми. Так в миксе для нашего сообщества смешались грувовый ломаный саунд, тягучее электро и гипнотичное техно.
