And here we go again, bringing you another massive dancefloor smash on Formatik Records, this time crafted and well polished in the studio of Berlin's only David Keno, who has amassed an impressive catalogue of releases and remixes throughout the past decade from early 12“es on i220 to singles on Trapez LTD, Mother, URSL, his very own Keno Recordings and way beyond.

The title track „Black Betty“ delivers a fascinating electronic take on a prominent and well-known vocal sample from the Rock'n'Roll era, transfers it to a modernistic, octane-fueled TechHouse context and comes across as perfect crossover tune amalgamating underground and mass appeal within 269 seconds of madness.

As a bonus we see Robosonic, also responsible for a large remix of Format: B's uber-hit „Chunky“ on Formatik Records in early 2k15, at the remix controls, delivering a massive warehouse rave stomper built on a rock-solid foundation of banging drums, dirty signals, hoovers and – of course – the trademark vocals works for the laser, fog and glowstick massive. Formatik Podcast No 5 by Alec Troniq - Live @ Kultstätte Keller Berlin 2016

Here's a little story that must be told as this one resembles the good old pre-internet days of the music industry when upcoming artists actually were honing their skills in the studio and sending out demos to record labels to get signed. And although it doesn't happen too often these days anymore this approach still can pay off, especially as this is the way Pazkal ended up to be signed on Formatik Records with his first single „Younger Days“.

Coming on strong with a quite infectious groove and catchy main motif the young Swiss producer gets a pretty sweet TechHouse vibe going in the original version of „Younger Days“ whilst tweaking on some Latin drums and cowbells that provide a foundation for a hefty portion of Soul as well as some massive sweeps for big room audiences.

Next up we see Mr. Alec Troniq on remix duties bringing on a more techy and hollow vibe, focusing on the lower mid-range of the sonic spectrum and stripping things down a little. Adding up some clonky, muscular percussive elements and slightly aggressive distortion to his version he finds a very special way to blend in the epic vocal bits into a heaving Techno peaktime vibe for all those DJ's willing to surprise their crowds every now and then.  

Finally we've got Tobi Kramer providing his version of „Younger Days“ which stays closer to the original TechHouse vibe and carefully adds a few new elements like a new, epic synth melody, massive breakdowns and - sic! - heavy snarerolls for maximum dancefloor impact whenever this one is played out on a large P.A.. Sometimes it's the small changes that have a massive effect.

Following up as a sequel to the latest FormatB single „Okeey Yaah EP“  which was released on Formatik Records only recently is this little remix offshoot, serving a new approach to one of the EP's original tracks – crafted by the young Spaniard Wade. Being one of FormatB's favorite upcoming producers of 2016 his remix clearly shows why they asked him to rework and restructure their tune „Whippp“ for a digital remix single.

Relying on a hefty foundation of punch providing drums we see Wade come up with on point functionality for peak time floors, working his filters right whilst adding energy driven percussion rolls, cowbells and super driving hi-hats to keep the crowd under motion control whilst firing occasional dirty hoover signals at them to keep energy levels up to the max.

So here we go for 2k17! Starting into a new year with a new release on Formatik Records, the label debut for the young French producer Matt Sassari, the man behind a hefty string of releases on labels like Time Has Changed Records, Bouq., Relief Records and many others since he stepped on the scene in 2012.

With the title track „Foorewer“ we see the Frenchman provide a sweet take on looped and filtered TechHouse with a twist, living up to the standards by catering a menu of muscular bass, cut and twisted vocal bits as well scarce percussive bits and highly modified sound abstractions taking their influences from the more minimalist side of the electronic club music spectrum – an amalgamation functional as functional can get and defo a tune that'll be heard on dancefloors all over the place on a regular within the next months.

The second tune on here is „Funq Zap“; another on point production by Matt Sassari that's taking TechHouse to slightly deeper late night level, keeps bodies moving due to the use of precise drum, decent wood percussions and haunting white noise layers whilst our braincells are spooked out by warped and alienated vocals dealing with struggles of everyday's life on the street. C'mon man!

Coming in straight from Malaga, Spain is the newest signing on Formatik Records, a young producer on the rise who has been rocking floors with releases on Clarisse Records, Safe Music and Escapism Musique in the past and is now about to make a massive statement with his „Tik2 EP“. And who is the guy we're talking about? Novodisc is the name!

The title track „Tik2“ gets at us with a straight banging, hypercompressed bassdrum section that introduces a full-on marching brutalism to House Music, paired with a seductive, yet uncompromising groove, killer vocal bits and ecstatic stabs for the ultimate dancefloor lift-off. This tune is an order, an order to dance!

The second tune on this single is „Sometimes“ in which the Spaniard on the rise once again provides a great example for his distinct trademark sound which one might file under the flag of Brutal(ist) House whilst adding excessive snare rolls and threatening hoover signals to the proven formula to create another ultra-effective peaktime banger. Back for his third release on Formatik Records is Alec Troniq, the Dresden-based producer who has contributed two massive singles to our catalogue and is now striking again with „Berzerk“, another big tune accompanied by a remix crafted by longtime electronic music staple Tobi Kramer.

Going in deep with the original version of „Berzerk“ we see Alec Troniq provide quite a bit of a mechanical punch alongside distinct sweeps and a proper, raw synth sequence for all ElectroDisco lovers alongside a vocal sample that takes us back into US-American history for sure. Rocket fuel for primetime dancefloors paired with historical and ecological awareness to a great effect!   

On a remix tip for „Berzerk“ is label mate Tobi Kramer who's presenting the harder, more aggressive and Techno-driven variety of his musical work with this one. Highly compressed bassdrums bring on a merciless stomp, are paired with additional rhythmic layers to provide a peaktime foundation for warm, overwhelming and all embracing sawtooth synths drifting off into slightly wobbly, ever warping territories  for a hefty climax.

Welcome back, Mr. Chris Hartwig! It's been a while since the German producer dropped his label debut single on Formatik Records back in 2015 but now he's finally back on track with two massive bangers for this years hot summer season.

The title track „Bang The Groove“ is a prime example for Chris Hartwig's highly appreciated production style which comes in with a bang indeed, providing a crisp foundation of precisely rolling, yet muscular TechHouse, razor sharp hi-hats and a well cut up and sliced vocal motif making sure that everyones on the floor is banging and bouncing and brocking out to this one for real.

With „Whoozle“ we see the man Chris Hartwig coming at us with another masterly crafted delivery, a tasteful, slightly deeper variation of his proven dancefloor smashing formula. With a groove sharp as a knife he brings on a proper pump, the bassline weighs in hot steaming vibes and a simple yet seductive interplay of two tightly connected motifs is more than enough to create a proper floor craze, especially after the tunes' massive, roll-driven breakdown.

The long wait has come to an end and finally Format:B are back on their very own Formatik Records-imprint with another digital single release, a high quality smash that has been dancefloor tasted and punter proved throughout banging sets played by the dynamic duo for quite a while now.

With „Humpy“ we see Format:B bringing on a bouncy, highly seductive take of Motor / TechFunk which is able to set large scale venues on fire within seconds due its powerful, clonking bass motif and hefty stabs accompanied by dark'ish Rave-schooled hoover signals and masterly cut up vocal bits.

On „Crumpy“ the two musical masterminds ride a well similar wave albeit gravitating towards an even darker level, emphasizing on ever present subs, sexy grooves, sharp percussion rides and large scale bass attacks literally able to bring the house down. Coming straight from Brazil with a hot addition to the roster of Formatik+ is Diego Lima, surely a rising staple and prolific in his motherland with releases on his own label Konkre Records as well as Flashmob Records, Audio Rehab an many others. Ready to leave a mark with his label debut we see the aspiring Brazilian deliver nothing but pounding goodness for big room dancefloors all over the globe.

The title track „Pumpsfaction“ weighs in a hefty pump indeed, combined with a rolling, well seductive groove, loads of vintage underground ghetto samples vocalwise and a well spiralling, House inspired synth line leading to everyone and his mother going mad wild on an already heavily bouncing dancefloor.

Following is „This Crazy!“ a track showing off another angle of Diego Lima's musical mastercraft. With a well rolling attitude mostly attributed to the superclub  scene of New York and Miami this heavyweight groove monster puts banging House music on another level, causing nothing but havoc with ecstatic stabs and an overall feel of pure joy, love and endorphine driven happiness.

Following up with „This Crazy! *Dub“ we see Diego Lima go down a similar path of  House infected vibe yet, hence the name, focusing on the instrumental goodness of the tune, providing all those more groove- and percussion-oriented DJ's with a massive tool of choice whilst leaving out most of the vocals featured in the original version.

Is there any introduction needed when it comes to „Bang The Groove“? It's been about a year since Chris Hartwig's tune of the same name has been released via Formatik Records and has become somewhat of an uber-hit ever since, turning dancefloors upside down whenever blasted at a massive  dancefloor crowd. 

The large scale success of „Bang The Groove“ inspired label heads FormatB to touch down in the studio to provide a little touch up for 2019, coming straight at you with their 'FormatB Remix' of Chris Hartwig's banger. 

Their reworked version of „Bang The Groove“ starts out with a short eerie signal and an intense, darker atmosphere focusing on a more stripped down, technoid, underground warehouse rave vibe, bringing forth killer signals, a humungous amount of groove and, of course, the tunes' trademark vocal hook for maximum dancefloor impact.

Coming up with his second single release for Formatik Records within only a few months is Daniel Levak – the German producer and festival promoter who worked summer floors hard with his label debut „Let's Go“ throughout the hot season and is now „Popping Bottles“ in celebration of his massive success.

The opening title track „Popping Bottles“ brings forth a quite dark'ish and brooding take on sample-driven TechHouse, based on super sharp hi-hats and gnarly sawtooth bass modulations for heaving peaktime dancefloors which get their extra thrill out of additional cowbell sequencing and larger than life snare rolls leading into even more muscular bass power.

With „Get Down“ we see Daniel Levak catering more of his hyper-seductive low end works, speeding up things a little whilst bringing down the house with fluttering, Klaxon'esque bass blasts especially created to shed blood on the Dancefloor and fully max out the capacity of big ass rave rigs all over the globe. Being a major dancefloor force for the better part of the past two decades this production and DJ team never gets tired and is always up for another dancefloor smash or the next party to come. First Track is „Lead“ which sees the Hamburg-based project exploring a harder, more jacking and uptempo side of their work. Coming back from Spain for his second musical outing on Formatik+ is Kevin Corral, the young and upcoming talent who smashed floors with his label debut "Speechless EP" in 2018 and is now up for even bigger and better things with the three tracks featured on his new single "Tooth Breaker".

The opening title track "Tooth Breaker" brings on distinct, bouncy TechHouse flavors sporting loads of low end percussion bits, large scale sweeps, references of modernistic UK Bass Music and 4/4-driven Future Garage as well as busy, electroid midrange synth modulations as well as expertly cut-up female vocals setting not only TechHouse but also SpeedGarage floors on fire within seconds.

Following up is "Devastation", an indeed devastating dancefloor weapon for House-ridden darkrooms, catering a stomping, yet hyperseductive groove alongside minimalistic Disco loops, more distinct vocal abuse, a constant percussive rumble and finally a short, climactic build-up leading towards raw synth sweeps and even more percussive power moves for the darkest hours of a clubnight.

Opening with "Reese" Samuel Dan brings forth a driving, groove-ridden approach to contemporary TechHouse with a primetime attitude whilst adding a rarely heard variation of dope ass oldskool booty rhyming alongside hefty rave signals to the mix which will make this cut a dancefloor and strip joint favorite alike.

Coming all the way from Birmingham / UK for his first release on Formatik+ is Sandor, a young DJ and producer on the rise who's already been making waves on the British scene with tracks signed to labels like Cr2 Records, Material Series and Shanghaied which have been supported by Jamie Jones, Ricky Ahmed, Steve Lawler and many noticeable names touring the UK circuit on a regular.

Opening with the title track "Drop The Beat" Sandor is entering uptempo peak time realms immediately and without any hesitation. Back for a second outing on Formatik+ after their 2018-released "Collage EP" is the musical triumvirate comprised of Reedjekt, JJ Mullor and Gili Jack – a conjunctional musical force which has been cooking up two new tracks in the studio for their new single "Bailap".


The title track "Bailap" sees the three producers on a hyperfunctional level of pumping, midrange-focused TechHouse, providing a slightly metallic drum foundation with sharp shuffling hi-hats and carefully layered percussive elements, hefty bass warps, expertly cut non-vocalisms as well a high octane drive for banging, tool-focused peaktime sets.

The Cologne-based DJ and producer, better known to his friends and family under the name of Dominic Wagner, touches down on Formatik+ with a new two track single, presenting a serious label debut after making waves on imprints like Jackfruit, Style Rockets, Ostfunk and more for about a decade now.

Opening with "Coke Power" Dompe is on a high octane uptempo TechHouse tip from the get go, combining a sweet hi-hat shuffle with super seductive bass grooves as well as a killer vocal sample from the Funk-driven past, adding a bit of extra fuel for all them peaktime punters out there.

The subsequent "Active" presents a similar attitude in terms of seductive hyperfunctionality and precisely rolling grooves, yet employs a sharper overall tonality, percussive, mechanical sample use as well as classic white noise sweeps and a large scale, highly recognizable synth motif for ecstatic moments of relief whenever the track breaks down for a moment.

Established in 2009 by Berlin-based DJs and producers Jakob Hildenbrand and Franziskus Sell, known, praised and recognized by fans and followers of electronic club music under their conjunctional moniker Format B, Formatik Records was initially installed as a homebase for the pairs own productions.

After their so-called Motor Funk-sound, a forward thinking take on pumping, straightforward, high octane electronic music represented both by releases on labels like Highgrade Records or Stil For Talent as well as an endless string of captivating live sets, had caught the attention of clubbers and media alike the pair felt the need to create a platform of their own that would grant them full creative freedom as well as unlimited quality control for a fertile and fecund future.      

Whilst taking care of the A& R side of things Format B teamed up with electronic music veteran Hawks Grunert on management duties, setting up an imprint that soon gained massive traction, became one of the major forces on the global club circuit and quickly grew way beyond the teams initial plannings and intentions.
 
With its core sound being defined by the powerful Motor Funk / Tech-Funk production of its founders Formatik Records soon became home and mothership for a vast array of likeminded producers and friends whose single releases are still rocking dancefloors all over the place.

Spreading the labels trademark sound further and catering towards the needs of an ever growing fanbase the label soon expanded and started to set up Formatik Records club nights and showcases all over Europe back in 2014, selling out  shows and leaving punters in awe whereever these nights are taking place.

Aside from carving out an in demand niche as club promoters the Formatik Records crew also started to take care of their artists bookings with their very own booking agency Formatik Booking which was subsequently renamed, restructured and relaunched in 2017 under the name of VIVID Artists which is now successfully handling things bookingwise for a good portion of the labels roster plus a carefully picked selection of other aspiring as well as well established artists and performers.

In addition to these musings the ever busy Formatik Records team established a second, rapidly growing musical outlet in 2017. Embracing a broader musical spectrum than its Motor Funk-oriented mothership, the freshly founded label FMK+ provides a home for a new generation of producers covering a wide range of electronic club music incorporating a musical spectrum including all things House, ElectroHouse, TechHouse, Techno and beyond. With more than 10 red hot releases within the first year the new FMK+ branch has received much love amongst DJ's and from an international dancefloor crowd and quickly turned out to be a launchpad for fresh, upcoming talent from all over the globe.

Branching out even further Formatik Records launched an additional subdivision in early 2018 – FormatikSounds. Focusing on the ever growing demand for high quality samples and grooves this specific and one of a kind label provides exclusive sample packs for DJ's and producers alike, starting operations with Format:B's “TechHouse Signature Cuts”, an acclaimed release which sees the upfront production team unveiling some of their best kept secrets soundwise, catering to the needs of every creator of contemporary club sounds of today.
