In 2003 Memory Systems was planning on releasing a remix album to go along with Ad Placement For The Collective Unconscious. All of Form Records' distributors went out of business so the remix project never happened. But, Kim Cascone (Silent Records) completed his remix of 1+1+1=3, and this is it. Never before released.

I made this EP while I was back in San Francisco for a few months in early 2005. It is the first completed solo project that I made using only Ableton Live (plus some hardware synths and assorted plug-ins) and no other DAW. This was shopped around a bit and had some interest, but also was never released other than free web PR.

This track was never fully finished due to all sorts of weird problems moving from PowerPC to Intel system and plug-ins not working anymore (C. 2007). Still, I think its worth hearing. Idea for title comes from passage in Jean Gebser's brilliant masterpiece "The Ever-Present Origin" - in nearly all western languages the word for "8" and "night" are basically differentiated only by an "N".
