As for many people in the mid late 90s, Metalheadz sessions at the Blue Note and their subsequent nights at places like the Leisure Lounge and sets at the Essential Festival etc were hugely influential on me. I've got fond memories of going up to London, hearing the music that sounded so incredibly futuristic at the time (and still sounds fresh today) and record shopping in the various shops and markets.

Kola Nut began playing computer games at a young age, he was given a Megadrive on 25th December 1994. Playing games like 'Theme Park', 'Street Fighter 2'  & ‘Cyborg Justice’ he soon built his finger strength and hand eye co-ordination skills. 
This dexterity and skill combined with his love for jungle music lead him neatly into the world of bedroom DJing in 2001. He has since collaborated with scene honchos such as Law, Wheeler & Tim Reaper and dropped releases on Repertoire, R-Whites, Future Retro, Meditator, Context Audio, 7th Storey Projects, Silent Force and Sonic Force Recordings.

@sekldnb "I've gone in on this mix from the start - For the intro I rebuilt Blowfly - Sesame Street without the vocal at 121BPM and transitioned the tempo up to 170BPM whilst reconstructing one of my forthcoming tracks from the source break, you won't hear another mix like this."

Live mix for Energy 1058 as part of their Tapepack takeover event.. Mission was to recreate / pay respect to a tape pack that was significant to each DJ.. My choice was a late 1995 set from Bryan Gee, from a tape pack called 'Euphoria - Jungle Flavour'(https://on.soundcloud.com/1zeSR). Anyone who knows me properly knows how much I love that set.. Rinsed it since I was a kid.. Did my best live on the night to give it the respect it deserves, I'm no Bryan Gee though clearly..
