Deuce Cru is an explosive new rap duo consisting of “P,” a 17-year-old high school senior, who, by his own admission, only managed to get a passing grade in Chemistry last year by the skin of his teeth and “Stil,” an 18-year-old skateboarder who recently escaped the terminal nature of a steel-toed factory life. Both of these rhyme-busting young bucks hail from Southern Indiana, the unofficial epicenter of the rural roughneck. But don’t let visions of cornfields and big trucks spur judgement. No sir. Although the Hoosier state might sound like a bizarre spot to launch a rap act, Deuce Cru keeps it real, as goes the expression of the times, using their small-town surroundings – the good, the bad and the ugly – to make their brand of music. The result of this collaboration is nothing short of a sonic brotherhood. Pulling influence from the OGs of the hip hop genre, Deuce Cru credits legendary artists Eminem, Jay Z, Kanye West, Ice Cube, Ludacris, and Mac Miller for inspiring their vision.
