At heart, disco is about emotion, about the sweeping landscapes which run across the heart.

A true disco classic, 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore' is a case in point. Written by one-time Motown wunderkind Norman Whitfield, the track was partially inspired by the medication abuse of sometime collaborator Miles Gregory.

Featuring a primitive drum machine, the chaotic mixture of machine technology and fragile humanity resulted in a stunning recording, which has been recorded by everyone from Madonna to Ms. Dynamite.

Now Canadian-born producer Forrest has stepped in. Residing in Notting Hill, the beatsmith normally indulges in sun kissed house music, but opted to return to the sound's disco roots for this one off interpratation.

Driven by the unifying character of the original version, Forrest rips and plays with the final take to produce something which is both tender yet genderless. A truly universal rendition, the breathlessly emotive vocal comes equipped with a wry, self-derential wink - the producer names this cut the 'Liberace version'.

My Factory continues on the deep tip mixes with vocal samples and modulating synth lines creating a smokey atmosphere. A slinky bassline drives the track along and will get any floor moving. 
Beverly Hills teases us with an uncomplicated arrangement of more slick house with sustained strings providing the tension and a great use of a female vocal sample. 
New kids on the block Bodhi bring a garage swing to their remix of Shiny Suit Man kicks. Heavy syncopated 808’s paired with shuffling synths bring a new flavour to the EP."

Forrest is back for his third outing on 20/20 Vision this year, after a big 2015 which has seen him also release on Get Physical, Moon Harbour and Culprit. 

Ever fond of the collaborative process (having worked previously with VAM & Hector Couto), this one see's Forrest team up with Geordie maestro Cristoph for a deeper release which further showcases his varied capabilities as vocalist and front man. 

Title track, 25, sets the tone with a deep kick drum which is soon surrounded by a collection of light and trippy textures. Haunting melodies and deep sub bass build to a dramatic climax with Forrest's soothing vocal tones adding to the ecstasy. An instrumental version is also included which highlights 25's considered production. 

The final track, Time, is a slightly more heads down affair with more hypnotic melodies and arpeggios sending the journey into hyper space. A pumping drum section drives the track on, with Forrest again providing his trademark lush vocal treatment. 

For those that have witnessed his captivating live performances, this EP shows a deeper side to this diverse and ever evolving performer. Keep your ears to the ground for a UK tour in November.

Next up on MEXA Records is the founding member of the MTL/L.A./LDN based Amadeus Records, Forrest. Forrest has been evolving into an artist of his own with not only an untamed mindset, but an exponentially growing catalog of quality releases. Working closely with Montreal producer/sound engineer Jonathan Doyon, Forrest has collaborated with other renowned acts such as Avatism, Eric Volta, and Tom Budden to name a few.

This EP contains three originals by Forrest, which will later be remixed and released. The EP starts off with 'Bad Girls Go To Heaven'. This track is captivating with smooth sexy male vocals enticing you, asking you, "Would you like to see... how real this could be?" thrusting with a hard hitting bass line and distorted dirty synths, the track builds up and down as if it's making love to you.

The second track on the EP, 'Casablanca', is found with that same familiar vibe but a bit more dreamy and ethereal. Sexy, dreamy vocals entice and entrance, leading you through the foot stomping dance ready percussion laced beat.

'The Game' rounds off the EP nicely with a dance ready hard-hitting beat. Elongated drawn out spacey synth breaks in between the booty bouncing, shoulder shaking hard bass line make this track a go-to to get the crowd down and dirty.

'My favorite thing about all three tracks on this EP would have to be the sexy, dreamy male vocals of Forrest himself and the lyrics. It's so rare to come across tracks with any lyrical styling these days as so many are straight laced with short blips of sex and drug innuendos. This EP instrumentally has my favorite dirty feel with rough synths and heavy beats but lyrically and vocally my favorite ethereal element. Working closely with Montreal producer/sound engineer Jonathan Doyon, Forrest has collaborated with other renowned acts such as Avatism, Eric Volta, and Tom Budden to name a few.

This EP contains three originals by Forrest, which will later be remixed and released. The EP starts off with 'Bad Girls Go To Heaven'. This track is captivating with smooth sexy male vocals enticing you, asking you, "Would you like to see... how real this could be?" thrusting with a hard hitting bass line and distorted dirty synths, the track builds up and down as if it's making love to you.

The second track on the EP, 'Casablanca', is found with that same familiar vibe but a bit more dreamy and ethereal. Sexy, dreamy vocals entice and entrance, leading you through the foot stomping dance ready percussion laced beat.

'The Game' rounds off the EP nicely with a dance ready hard-hitting beat. Elongated drawn out spacey synth breaks in between the booty bouncing, shoulder shaking hard bass line make this track a go-to to get the crowd down and dirty.

'My favorite thing about all three tracks on this EP would have to be the sexy, dreamy male vocals of Forrest himself and the lyrics. It's so rare to come across tracks with any lyrical styling these days as so many are straight laced with short blips of sex and drug innuendos. This EP instrumentally has my favorite dirty feel with rough synths and heavy beats but lyrically and vocally my favorite ethereal element. Kick starting July with a release set to impress, Forrest. makes his debut on Defected’s fresh and innovative sub-label DFTD with the three track Creep EP. Founding member of Amadeus Records, this talented newcomer has already seen the success of one single earlier this year titled ‘Marlon Brando’, released on Noir Records, and was also featured on Pete Tong’s Essential Mix where he was highlighted as one of the ‘13 Artists To Watch Out For 2013’.

On this occasion the Canadian aka Zacharie-Jos Montpetit spoils us with three equally exciting and skilfully produced outings, demonstrating his ambition to command our attention, and why all eyes should be focused on this promising artist whilst he begins to make his mark on the house music scene this summer.

‘Creep’, produced alongside long term collaborator Jonathon Doyon, immediately kicks in with deep pads accompanied by Forrest.’s own captivating vocals to blend together a spellbinding creation. Forrest.’s partnership with Doyon is unquestionably a powerful alliance which we see again in a second charming and polished production titled ‘YSL’. The other track on this EP goes off in to darker territory, this time linking up with German producer Re.You. ‘Face Down’ is not to be taken lightly either, with tribal vibes and a rumbling bassline overlaid with the Canadian’s haunting voice.
