For our twenty third installment we've invited August, an upcoming DJ and dancefloor regular based in Amsterdam.

August loves to explores the deeper, more experimental and organic side of techno. His sets blend intricate soundscapes, broken rhythms, and dark ambient influences, creating deep, immersive experiences that transport listeners to otherworldly realms.

Beyond conventional techno, August delves into ambient, downtempo, halftime, and IDM, crafting dynamic sets that keep audiences captivated. His performances balance the experimental with the danceable, each one a carefully curated journey and story waiting to be told.

Some words by Bart about his mix:
I wanted to create a mix that captures the essence of the dancefloor, focusing on storytelling, deep kicks, and impressive soundscapes. These elements are what I value most in a set.

In the past, I struggled to capture the vibrant energy of a club while working from home or in the studio. This time, I decided to limit myself to just two attempts at recording, which allowed me to focus on the creative process rather than getting caught up in perfectionism. This approach worked really well, and I had a great time recording. I'm excited to share the final result—it's a club-focused mix with tracks from all my favorite producers."

For this week's edition we are happy to feature Astrover, Ben Parkin, hailing from London. Astrover is an up-and-coming artist who yields the skill to present a variety of intricate sounds and sequences. Despite his young age of 20 years, he pushes a deft touch of rhythms and has already released two solid tracks to date.

Originally from Manchester, he immersed himself in different musical facets and sets out with intent to demonstrate this through his works. In this mix, hypnotic textures are mixed with dazzling, resonant pulses. A piece of fine art with blissful, atmospheric techno. Enjoy.

"Balanca" ist ein Berliner DJ, Produzent und Co-Founder von The Voice Inside. Inspiriert vom Loop-Techno der 2000er Jahre begann er seine musikalische Reise mit Vinyl, bevor er sich im Zuge der Digitalisierung zunächst CDs und schließlich dem digitalen Auflegen widmete.

Sein Sound war schon immer eher deep und hat sich über die Jahre hin zu hypnotischem Techno entwickelt. Dies führte 2022 zur Entstehung seines Alias "Balanca".
Kurz darauf kreuzten sich seine Wege mit dem Kollektiv hinter quartal., sie waren der Überzeugung daß er fester Bestandteil dieses musikalischen Kreises sein sollte.
Nun können wir ihn herzlich willkommen heißen in unserer kleinen Familie.

"Balanca" is a Berlin-based DJ, producer, and co-founder of The Voice Inside. Inspired by the loop-techno of the 2000s, he began his musical journey with vinyl before transitioning to CDs and eventually embracing digital DJing as technology evolved.

His sound always rather deep and has developed over the years into hypnotic techno. This evolution led to the creation of his alias "Balanca" in 2022.

Shortly thereafter, his path crossed with the collective behind quartal., who strongly believed that he should be an integral part of this musical circle.

Now, we are thrilled to officially welcome him into our small family!
