i replayed ocarina of time recently and this game will always mean a lot to me. it was the first game in my life that made me feel like i was on a real journey. i had forgotten a lot about it, and feared that replaying it would soil my great memories i had of playing it to completion back in 2011, but i was pleasantly surprised that it still holds up amazingly.. the atmosphere, story, and gameplay are like therapy to me, it soothes my soul to it's core (besides the water temple). i'm currently in a pretty terrible emotional state right now, but replaying this game was a little ray of light that told me that i can make it through anything, and i am so glad i chose to play it again :) for anybody who read till the end you're probably wondering how i'm doing, i'm doing better than i was two weeks ago but i think this time of year is the time where i just automatically become a depressed recluse.. thanks for reading and there is music stuff to look forward to, it's just being worked on very slowly...

"POKE" is a mixtape/compilation/thing, structured the same way as our 2017 "THAW" compilation.  The first 6 songs are from completely new musicians, who have never been on DESKPOP before, while the rest of the tracks are remixes of existing DESKPOP songs (with some of the remixers making their own DESKPOP debuts as well).

The title was decided upon because of the word's versatility.  As the first track by HiP CoLouR uses it, a poke can be to get someone's attention in a friendly but personal manner, as it implies physical contact.  "Poke" can also be used to describe how seedlings start to pop up out of the ground, similar to how the new producers on this compilation are poking their heads into the music industry.  And finally, a cactus will absolutely poke you if you mishandle it, so the word could have a more aggressive meaning attached to it, like how tracks from Cromulon Twins, pooldad & Low Poly have very in-your-face fun moments.
