Welsh producer Harrison BDP is back on Phonica’s main label with the excellent ‘Easy Tiger EP’. It’s yet another impressively crafted 12” of his idiosyncratic take on House, Techno, Garage and beyond!

Once again, we were blown away with Harry’s grasp of producing a multitude of different electronic styles. The record launches with the melancholy-tinged Deep House/Garage crossover ‘Easy Tiger’ and its familiar vocal sample.

Ironimo are an electronic music duo from Zurich. Their work is rooted in hip hop and jazz, with groovy, funky undertones. Morris and Moritz, the team behind Ironimo, have both produced, DJ’ed and raved to dance music together for over 10 years. Whilst Morris is a classically trained pianist, Moritz is a self taught drummer. Because of their background, Moritz and Morris have developed a unique sound which has been heavily inspired by samples from a range of genres. The fusion of their two distinct worlds creates an astonishing music experience that encourages us to connect with one another and dance.

Crustation were a short-lived trip-hop group with ties to Portishead and Massive Attack; their 1997 single "Flame" was a perfectly nice, totally innocuous, and mostly forgettable contribution to the drowsy downbeat catalog. The journeymen producers Mood II Swing put their characteristically light, funky touch on a club-friendly remix of the song, as they did hundreds of times during their run as New York's most dependable remixers. But Mood II Swing also had a murkier, more abstracted side; you can hear it in productions like "Move Me," "The Slippery Track," and the eerie "Inhale," which sounds like Gary Numan's "Cars" being sucked through a Teflon wormhole. But they outdid themselves on the "Borderline Insanity Dub" of "Flame," lacing a skipping, proto-U.K.-garage beat with hiccupping vocal loops and a lithe, shadowboxing bass line; the icing on the cake comes courtesy of a swirling fog of vocal harmonies that pans from speaker to speaker. Running out of phase with the beat, it lends a sense of tidal ebb-and-flow, throwing the time deliriously out of joint. The fact that Mood II Swing never produced anything else quite like it only makes this fluid, enveloping tune all the more irreplaceable. P.S.

We’re bidding farewell to 2024 with fresh music from our favorite duo, Rush City, featuring Jonahlo and Joint4Nine. Their love for old-school house and electro inspired them to rework three classic tracks into fresh, club-ready versions for today’s dancefloors.

The release kicks off with the 1982 boogie funk classic "Be My Girl" by Pee Wee, where Rush City samples the original vocals and layers in 808 drums, funky synth phrases, and acid basslines for an Electro Indie vibe. Next is Dream 2 Science’s 1990 deep house classic “My Love Turns To Liquid,” reworked into a driven, trippy acid house track. The final rework is an electro version of the 80s Italo Disco anthem "Don Quichotte" by Magazine 60, with Rush City re-recording the vocals and synth lines for a fresh, modern twist.

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell.

The new release on Intec is from Diego Infanzon whos a South American artist based in Uruguay where he also DJs at the La Terraza parties playing alongside the likes of Nic Fanciulli, Joseph Capriati, Matthias Tanzmann, Coyu, Technasia, Jay Lumen and John Digweed for example.

Diego Infanzon has risen through the ranks of the South American electronic music scene and is hotly tipped as one of the regions most exciting talents, which is not only due to his skills behind the decks but also his growing back catalogue of produced music.

Along with this his Intec debut he also boasts EPs on Christian Smith's Tronic, Uto Karems Agile Recordings, 2000 and Ones Bitten, as well as Chus & Ceballos' Stereo Productions.

With a sound that also incorporates elements of house, this release showcases the techno orientated side of Diego Infanzons eclectic music taste.

Locomotora opens the EP with acid flutters and stabbing synths layered with crisp percussion and subtle bursts of euphoria. Deep and shimmering, this techno cut has melodic elements fused with a rolling groove. Whether this is a harder track for melodic DJs, or a building track in a harder set, this multipurpose track is most definitely an essential addition.

Take This One is second of the two tracks and it lifts things up a gear with tough percussion and an arpeggiated lead synth. The trippy modulation on the lead synth builds to an intense drop and the introduction of a looped vocal is both explosive and unexpected. If you are looking for a secret weapon to lift the mood or surprise a dance floor, then this is the track for you.

ID163 2. Diego Infanzon - Take This One

Up next on Deeperfect is the latest offering from label founder Stefano Noferini. His last EP this summer was a bomb which quickly rose to the Top 10 on Beatport’s Deep Tech / Minimal chart and the tracks were played heavily throughout the summer party season. By merging energetic passion with pure talent he has carved out his place as a DJ and producer of the highest order and he remains one of the most respected names in the scene as a result of tireless dedication to his craft. On this new release you can hear exactly why he has had such a successful career for so many years! 
The title track ‘Arguments’ is a punchy tech house jam that is crafted with Stefano’s characteristic dubbed out minimal grooves. The low end is fat and warm with a deep sub line and chunky percussion, while the beat remains bright, crispy and tight up top. Textured vocal FX and chopped patterns provide a dynamic texture and fluid intensity that is paramount to Stefano’s club rocking style. 
The second track on the EP is called ‘Threads’ and this time Stefano takes a more rolling and deep approach to create another underground club destroyer. A signature aspect of Stefano’s distinct style is superbly crafted percussion grooves and ‘Threads’ has them in spades. The drums are shuffled and flowing throughout the composition a lush FX and dubby vocals wrap around the groove to create a beautifully syncopated track with serious tension and release. This is a dancefloor bomb that is ready to make the club explode at a moments notice!
