After a year of lockdown spent delving into new musical territories, Teknician provides a fresh instalment of our resident mix series with an hour and half of energetic, electro tinged selections.

It's time for some feel good Friday vibes.  After putting on quite the show at our Bank Holiday party, we had to invite Abi onto the Mix series! She's whipped up a glorious mini-mix of disco just for us. 💃🏼

Abi is a DJ and radio presenter from Wolverhampton, currently residing in Leeds. Working with the likes of CLASH, Come Play With Me, the Yorkshire Evening Post and BBC Radio Leeds, she embedded herself within the Leeds music scene upon arrival in 2018, and has continually worked to provide a platform for those in it. She currently hosts the mid-morning slot every weekday on LDC Radio, specialising in disco, funk and soul. 🌞

Friends of the Forrest 013 - Abi Whistance

Fresh mix from London based selector, Jahmed!! Pre-pandemic, Jahmed (@jahmed27) was popping up on lineups at some of the most iconic clubs across the country and further afield (ft. a booking on an idillic beach in Panama)🌞. 

Residencies with Good Life, Midnight People and Face2Face have seen him support top names in the scene such as Romare, Dan Shake, Crazy P, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Laurence Guy & O'Flynn. 

Through the launching of his own brand Flat Earth Disco (@flat_earth_disco) last year, he aims to bring together the wonderful and weird corners of global dance music.

Friends of the Forrest 014 - Jahmed

Next up in the series is @willdruid with an hour of no-nonsense dance music, soundtracking a typical day and night party. Expect all flavours of house, some low-slung garage, and emotional electronic cuts fit for the sun rising at the afters.

Will is a Leeds-based DJ and producer from Middlesbrough, with a passion for all things electronic. Just as inspired by 90's Morales Def mixes as he is by fresh electro bootlegs, there's always an element of fun in his projects. Will has already become a staple artist on the Fortynine roster, laying down  a plethora of infectious grooves and funky rhythms every time he steps behind the controls.

Mix 12 comes from a familiar face on the Leeds scene. @friedunderground has been around the block. He’s held residencies at Distrikt, Belgrave and KMAH radio, and of course played alongside us for our LMF party with Skatebard. 

Fried’s contribution to the mix series is a sneak preview into a project which has been brewing in lockdown. His mix takes us on a much needed voyage, spanning the spiritual spectrum of down tempo acid and electronica chug.
