Alexander Skancke is one of the new young talented faces from Norway who are making waves in Europe with his unique take on the deeper kind of electronic music.
Born 1991 in Trondheim, Norway, Alexander Skancke grew up to be a shy guy spending most of his time with music and technology. This brought him later on into studying sound­design and develop his own universe of sounds.

His debut EP was released on Jay Haze’s label: “Contexterrior” in 2013. A few months later following up with double 12” on the Frankfurt based label Neostrictly which topped the Juno best­selling charts.

Oddly this is the first jazz mix I have ever compiled. More of a curated playlist than a mix, though I did some editing for levels and to make all the gaps between songs just the right length. It's mostly more recent favorite discoveries of mine with a lot of the classics I remember my Dad playing regularly while growing up, and a couple more obscure items that I've come across, like Charlie Mingus playing solo piano to open the mix. Most of this jazz is from the same era, more or less. There were some older and some more contemporary pieces I wanted to include but I found they threw the sound and the vibe off somewhat, since the quality of recordings varies so greatly. There is also a lot more weird and more experimental jazz I adore that I did not include in favor of keeping this more relaxed and smooth. It was so much fun to compile, for almost 2 weeks straight I listened to pretty much exclusively jazz, and assembled around 5 hours of music which I then reduced to this shorter ride. Enjoy

Rominimal - Chapter 1. introduces the first in a series of all vinyl mixtapes I plan to release in homage to the 'Romanian' sound, a truly mysterious and compelling sub-genre of techno that has held me captivated for some time now. Not strictly Romanian by any means, this selection pulls together tunes from various eastern european mecca's of the scene along with a few tracks from Berlin and NYC that are inline with the style. These tracks are what I consider to be 'diamonds in the rough', or tracks that display a kind of hybrid magic fusing elements of breaks, techno, minimal and micro house. This mix features tracks from some of my current favourite labels such as Untold Stories, All Inn (Nilla) Records, Neostrictly, Heisenberg, Pressure Traxx, Ada Kaleh and many more. For the sixth instalment of our OUFFFCAST series, the time has come to be graced by the sounds of one of Gothenburg's up-and-coming DJ talents - VGFLT (Gustav Vågfelt).

Apart from spreading his carefully selected tunes and ardent love for music, VGFLT is one of the founders and a resident DJs of the music and art collective La Fenêtre Secrète. The collective, which arranges parties (Secret Window and LFS Sessions) focusing on music, visual and art experience, has made waves in the minimal and house scene in the past years, not only in its home town, but all across Sweden. Aleksandr Lukashevich aka Lucarelli was born and grew up in Minsk, Republic of Belarus. It is not a case where a person grew up in a musical family or something like that. Even the first steps in DJing he did quite late when he was 27 years old. However, music is always of particular importance to Lucarelli. It all started with small bars and a commercial deep house. But very quickly, Lucarelli found the style that completely devoured him. His mixes have already appreciated large sites that are in the “theme”, such as Feeder sound and 4pe4.ro. However, he does not even think about stopping.
