South African artist Tshxlx Irl joins up with US imprint Low Recordings to release a seven-track mini-LP entitled 'Dystopia.

 Tshxlx Irl is a producer and beatmaker from Daveyton, South Africa, whose work is a fusion of electronic elements, lo-fi soundscapes and beat experiments. Tshxlx Irl's sonic explorations are certainly something to admire. His previous releases on the Peruvian label Spy On Records certainly adheres to this adventurous attitude into music production's deeper realms. 'Dystopia' sees Tshxlx Irl join the tight-knit Los Angeles based community, Low Recordings, which includes artists such as Heartwerk, VCF, Evade Robots and more.

'You're Mine (All I Know)' begins with dreamy melodies revolving around gentle kicks and soul-infused basslines before late-night house cut 'Broken Ones' features irresistible strings and shimmering low frequencies. Up next, 'Fast Life' offers up euphoric pads underneath the lo-fi, muffled drums and soothing fx whilst 'Crying Hard' features emotive vocals, soft piano keys and throbbing bass revolutions.

Skippy grooves, introspective atmospheres and fluid resonance effortlessly take the focus in 'Silent Screams' and 'Bad Romance' before the heavenly 'Til' We Ghost' rounds off this gorgeous album with floaty soundscapes, breezy modulations and heartfelt tones which keep you cosily engaged.

Tshxlx Irl ‘Dystopia’ is out on Low Recordings on 26th April 2021.

Ander B is a DJ, producer and live performer based in Barcelona. Originally from the Dominican Republic in Caribbean, his music is increasingly abstract, profound and packed with rhythmic trances.

The sounds he creates are based on classic house, which he melds with thick layers of Detroit and Chicago House, as well as jazz, soul, funk and disco. 'The Black Sun' is his second 12" for Czech label Beef Records, following the Delano Smith + Petre Inspirescu supported 'Outta Space' EP in 2016.
On the flip side we have remix by Lee Renacre aka 100HZ (Oblong, Bosconi). Lee Renacre has been around since early 90ties producing rather abstract odd beat infused grooves. 100HZ delivers wicked reinterpretation of the track 'Free'.

"The Black Sun arose from the concept of a world in reverse" Ander B explains. "If you find earth dull, just the same old thing, then join us. Life is possible thanks to the warmth of the sun and the cold sky. A planet which orbits a black sun is a world in reverse: the sun is cold and the sky is "hot". The difference in temperature makes life possible."

Ander B's studio is located inside the most Barcelona's beloved Discos Edison's record shop, currently owned and managed by his girlfriend, Beta Mas. Discos Edison's is also home to the late Al Matthews' record collection. Al Matthews, who passed away in September 2018, was best known for his role in 'Aliens' and was the first black radio presenter on BBC Radio one in the late seventies. He was also a recording artist and music producer and was an award-winning Gospel radio presenter for London's Capital Radio. Ander B's studio is located inside the Al Matthews Room, a space originally created inside the shop to store Matthews' precious record collection.

There is an effectiveness and simplicity to Mall Grab’s house music
that very quickly made him a star. The artist from an Australian town
makes tracks as dusty as homeland, but imbued with feel good melodies,
irresistible drums and smart samples that elevated them above pure
tools. This raw, instinctive, unfussy sound has found him on labels
like Looking For Trouble as well as the Steel City Discs label he runs
with Jarred Kennedy and Jackson Fitzsimmons. Back in February he
stepped out with an EP under his own name in a mission of
“self-discovery” and it’s a journey the world continues to be closely
tuned in to.

His mix is a high octane selection of brilliantly physical sounds.
From supersized house to throwback breakbeats, he slams it all
together with a fist pumping efficiency that means two hours race by
in a flash.  It’s a fun mix, too, with old school rave flavours, saw
tooth stabs and bumping kicks all brimming with the sort of life that
makes Mall Grab such an appealing and accessible talent.
