The Bunkercast #57 [July 2022]

Setting:  It’s approximately 8pm on night 2.  Around 6pm, David Harness closed out our Beach Stage, and everyone was, slowly, trickling over to the main stage.  Jambalaya, a live band out of Sacramento, unfortunately, was not able to make it, so in their place, Jamie Swing & Heather B delightfully stepped in and blessed us w/ a groovy tag team set.  Next, ATM co-founder and Oakland’s own, Eric Groove, shared some of his potent library w/ all of us… then me… then Rick Preston and the rest of our headliners for the evening took over.    Of course, Mikeytown on the mic introducing inbetween sets.  Once again, here I am trying to fit 17 songs in 1 hour.  The sun is setting as I do so.  Bring On The Night.

Is a group of two producers DJs southern France, Mike 303 and Stephane B. This group is known internationally from Chicago to Tokyo, including their "French touch ", but also for the single" Lucky Star ", starring Ron Carrol (singer Bob Sinclar among others), which in 2000 was ranked number one in sales in France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and who currently holds a record of selling singles of electronic music in the world. SUPERFUNK is also "Young MC" and "LAST DANCE" securities for which the clips, shot in Monza (Italy), Chicago and Miami (USA) are broadcast on MTV, M6 and all international channels. SUPERFUNK, It is finally collaborations with internationally known artists such as BOB SINCLAR, MOBY, FELIX DA HOUSE CAT, IMAGINATION, M ONE, CECE PENISTON.

He is an emerging talent from Barcelona who is mixing the different sources of inspiration he has drawn from since his childhood. The producer and label co-founder mix organic textures with deep basslines and funky grooves.

Jackies Music House Session #113 - "Lve Lfe"

Aashton is the new alias of Brighton based DJ and producer Dominic Ashton, former lead singer of the band Kinema and one-half of House duo Aashton & Swift.
In early 2012, following the relocation of its various members, Kinema split and finding himself increasingly making straight up club music Dominic decided to join forces with Bristolian Mike Swift under the name Aashton & Swift. 
Released on Body Work (Waze & Odyssey/LPZ/Semedo) the debut A&S EP, ‘Holy House’ was an instant hit supported by a wide range of DJs from Horse Meat Disco to Sister Bliss, featured in DJ Mag and on sites such as XLR8R and Data Transmission and named one of Bleep.com’s ‘Tracks of 2012’.
Buoyed by that success Aashton & Swift would go on to remix the likes of Firas (one half of Waze & Odyssey), Compuphonic (on Get Physical), Logo (on Kitsune), All Dom Wrong (on Plant Music) and Mickey (on Smile) and would soon regularly feature on sites such as XLR8R, Discobelle, Harder Blogger Faster and many more.
Following an amicable parting of the ways though Dominic has now gone solo and hit the ground running in December 2013 with an acclaimed remix for Australian band Clubfeet and the free to download introductory ‘EP1’. 
With remixes for the likes of Italian producers Ajello and original EPs on Loungin’ Recordings, Body Work and Delayed Audio all set for release over the next few months expect to hear a lot more from Aashton in 2014.

FD040: Aashton

On Sunday September 6, 2015 we had the honor of playing what is arguably the best party that our city has to offer - 718 Sessions.  Danny Krivit and Sting International had the main room of Santos Party House rocking while the downstairs level featured special guests, birthday girl, Forward Disco and 718 favorite, Rissa Garcia and Forward Disco residents Sean Cormac and Chili Davis.  This was an incredibly special evening for us, and we cannot thank Danny, Benny Soto and Rissa enough for the opportunity.  Here is Chili's closing set.
