Love this instrumental breakdown and high hat!

"Infinity" is an interesting and romantic concept to me. 
In this mix, I've applied it very loosely to ideas about life, death, time, timelessness, love, and Utopian ideals. The last one might seem a bit odd, but, for me, it's a reminder that, as people with limited perception, we may never really be able to know for sure if "infinity" is universal truth or a profound illusion. That could potentially get bleak, but I'm alright with not knowing, so long as I know I'm doing my best to make the most of my seemingly finite experience, testing the waters as I see fit (so I suppose you can throw the psychedelic experience in with the list of themes).

"Into infinite space.

I've been interested in science fiction films lately, and been watching all of the classic space and dystopian cyberpunk future films. The raw, synthetic, and industrial sounds have influenced the music I've been working on for the past year. With all of this fresh on my mind, infinity first brings my mind to the sci-fi trope of traveling without limit into infinite space outside the strong gravity and friction that we're all familiar with. Once moving at any speed outside those forces, the default outcome is to continue in that direction forever. A second and less abstract influence lately has been the intermixing and experimental sounds surrounding grime, club, and all bass music right now. I wanted to showcase these killer new sounds along with some of my spacey bits in a context of sci-fi style synthscapes. With the theme of, "Into infinite space," in mind, I spent a few days pulling together a selection list of relevant tunes to choose from, and then recorded a fun mix of it all using Traktor Pro Software and my 4-deck mapping for the appropriately titled Novation Launchpad controller right after watching Interstellar on demand with my family. I had a lot of fun putting this together and indulging in the theme. Listen and then go watch all the Alien or 2001 films, or Blade Runner."

So I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about the resurgence of 90's house. His point was it was just a fad. My point was that all music is fad.  So this mix is essentially my representation of what I think is immortal. I knew I wanted to add some Luke Vibert because his music is represents the future. I've really been into DJ Haus recently because of his approach to classic house. The last track is my favorite end of the night track, Soul Central - Strings of Life. I know this track is timeless.
