The back2back mix was recorded live at Fossil Archive Presents at The Glove that Fits in London. This is organised once a month on a Sunday evening by Roberto R.M.K, and it was a truly special one. 

Even though they had never played together previously, the blend of styles felt like they’d been doing it for years. It was a truly magical experience for everyone involved, which was aided by the lack of air conditioning which had broken the day before. The heat and music were very intense which resulted in everyone sweating like crazy! Hopefully this will be the first of many b2b’s they play.

EPM.189 comes from Fossil Archive boss, R.M.K. Hailing from London, R.M.K is an exciting new project by Fossil Archive label head Roberto. It represents a faster and more intense take on his unique brand of Techno. He utilises his knowledge and past experiences, which include regularly playing at Berghain and Tresor in Berlin, as well as fabric in London, to develop his individual sound. R.M.K has distilled that experience into this 2-hr set, recorded directly from his residency at The Glove That Fits, London for the EPM series. Featuring Axel Karakasis, NØRBAK, Glaskin, Juri Heidemann, Volster, James Ruskin, Stephen Brown, Franco Rossi plus a brace of unreleased tracks from Vinicius Honorio & R.M.K himself we get a flawless mix of tough yet hypnotic swinging grooves.

During his 20+ year career in music, Roberto has formed friendships and worked in partnership with other respected artists such as Trevino (Marcus In-talex), Jamie Anderson, Robert Owens, Goldie and Nastia. Although the focus is always on the very heart of the most raucous of raves, R.M.K never shies away from groove and funk. This is conveyed in a Live Show that utilises classic hardware from the golden age of UK Rave and now here on this new mix for the EPM series.

R.M.K is the new project from London-based artist Roberto, known for his work as head of Fossil Archive. This alias sees him explore a faster, more intense take on his signature techno sound—drawing on two decades of experience and past appearances at clubs like Berghain, Tresor, and fabric.

Over the years, he’s collaborated with artists including Trevino (Marcus Intalex), Jamie Anderson, Robert Owens, Goldie, and Nastia. While rooted in the energy of peak-time rave, R.M.K’s sound keeps groove and funk at its core, brought to life in a hardware-driven live show inspired by the golden era of UK rave.

This set was recorded live at The Glove That Fits in London, where he holds a monthly Fossil Archive Presents residency. It features tracks from a forthcoming album produced with Jamie Anderson, marking ten years of the label.

Jamie Anderson was born in London and raised in a musical environment, eventually relocating to Bristol in the mid 80’s, where he continued training in improvisation with jazz pianist Dave Buxton for several years. Whilst performing in local bands and working in a Bristol record shop during the early 1990s, he developed a deep love for electronic music and turntablism, fusing elements of acid house, funk, Latin, and Detroit techno into his craft.

In 1997, Anderson founded the label Artform, making his solo debut with the Prototype EP. In 2001, he released his first full-length album Blue Music on NRK, followed by the mix CD Nite:Life 013 and key tracks such as “Black Sun,” “Player Hater,” and “Rebel Sound.” His productions and remixes also appeared on respected labels including Rotation, Cocoon, Fossil Archive, 100% Pure, and Flash Recordings.

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Jamie Anderson became a fixture on the global DJ circuit, performing at major international events and building a devoted following for his energetic DJ sets and live performances. He collaborated with fellow artists such as Jerome, Dave Angel, Jesse Rose, K. Alexi, Lee Pattison, and Owain K—releasing standout singles like “Body Jackin’” and “Cyclone,” and refining his signature groove-driven sound.

With his Artform Studio based in Berlin since 2014, Anderson continues to evolve his craft—collaborating with artists including Robert Owens, R.M.K., Daniel Haaksman, and Kapote on numerous high-quality studio productions. He remains active as a DJ, performing across Europe and around the globe.

Roberto (real name: Rob Kirkaldy) is a London based Techno producer, DJ and Remixer. Considered to be one of the most exciting new UK Techno artists in recent years, he combines influences from Detroit and Amsterdam to create his own sound unique to the UK.

As a DJ, he brings a special energy to the dance floor that is the product of many years of dedication to the craft. Never one to let an audience get bored, his sets explore many angles of techno, which has seen him play at some of the most well respected clubs around the world, including fabric in London and both Tresor and Berghain in Berlin. His DJ skills have also made him a popular choice for podcasters, having been called upon to deliver mixes for esteemed shows like the CLR Podcast, Slam Radio and Electric Deluxe.

With an already impressive discography, Roberto has built his production credits with EPs on the likes of Rekids, Fachwerk, ARTS, Solar Phenomena and Obscura, as well as a host of remixes for artists like Jamie Anderson, Roberto Clementi, DJ Rolando and Shinedoe. His own tracks have been remixed by artists such as Steve Rachmad (Sterac), Mike Dehnert, Trevino and Peverelist.

At the beginning of 2015, Roberto launched his own Fossil Archive label. Predominantly a vinyl label (though releases are also available digitally), the ethos of the imprint is that it must not compromise on the sound.

As Roberto said in a recent interview with Data Transmission: “I love the fact that you can hold a piece of music in your hands. They are art pieces in their own right. Music is the product of many years of development; much like a fossil that can be buried deep underground for millions of years, until it is discovered. I wanted to ensure the music is of the highest quality, which means not rushing things.”
