Aleksei Klimkin (Apobothra) is a Moscow-based electronic music producer who has been inspired by such musicians as The Future Sound of London, Autechre, Biosphere, Brian Eno, Basic Channel / Rhythm & Sound, DeepChord / Echospace, ASC / Mindpsan, bvdub, Fluxion, Quantec, Fingers In The Noise and others.
Starting with drum and bass in 2006 his tastes have gradually shifted to deeper electronic music such as dub techno, deep techno and ambient. Many of his tracks have been supported by some big names on the scene.
His first release with Apobothra alias was released on Spaceal Orbeats label in the end of 2013 and simultaneously became his first album. It is called ‘In Search for an Explanation’ and the production style there is based on author’s intoxication by science and particularly by astrophysics.
In real life "Apobothra" is an astronomical term whose meaning is quite similar to "Apogee", but while Apogee is the point of greatest distance between the Earth and its orbiting object, Apobothra is the furthermost point on the Black Hole orbit.

FAV004 is finally upon us and it comes courtesy of L.A based Cheyne Taylor Bush A.K.A Tetrad who has been on fire recently, fresh off the back of an inspired and well received ZamZam release last year.
Here he is joined by brother Dillon Bush A.K.A Ahkur on opener "Ashes Fall", a seriously dark piece of music and possibly Tetrads heaviest production to date. An eerie intro with a haunting vocal sample drop into an assault of pure dubstep pressure which is sure to ignite dance floors the world over.
Flip side "Crumble" is a more stripped back affair with a nod to the classic sounds of dub with its delayed snares, skanks and FX. What really sets this tune apart though is the overwhelming power of the sub, with a weight-line so devastating it could crumble cities let alone the dance!
Here brothers Tetrad and Ahkur have succeeded in providing an outstanding plate, absolutely brimming with sound system material in its purest form. Essential.

With releases on some of the brightest & most influential labels to our community, LA's rising DJ/Producer Ahkur brings his unique and dangerous stylings to the After Dark Music camp.

Ahkur sets the tone immediately with the EP title track 'Insomnia'. Bouncing bass complements the dark expanse above with unique progression throughout, encompassing an unknown terror lurking within. 'Bone Irk' takes us on a bass laced sci-fi trip into deep space. Uneasy atmospheres that feel almost off kilter take you on a journey where we land straight into 'Times Have Changed'. This track feels much more in control and settling, bringing a more fierce and cutting edge feel to it. Last but not least, the mighty Tetrad joins Ahkur at the controls on 'Night Sesh'. Dubwise sub shaking foundations are a constant throughout this track with haunting wails of some distant monster that left us craving for more, from start to finish.

There's a great range of diversity throughout this EP and Ahkur has certainly delivered. 
We are proud to have him on board here at After Dark Music [ADM].

As we move into our second EP release of the year we just liked to say a be thank you to everyone supporting the artists on the label during these stressful times due to the pandemic around the world. 

We’d like to reveal the sounds of L.A brothers Ahkur & Tetrad. The two brothers have come together and engineered a collaboration EP to destroy all live streams entitled ‘Moral Terror’ 

Both Dillon & Cheyne Bush are no newcomers to the scene, both landing releases of familiar labels such as Foundation Audio, Silent Motion, Gourmet Beats & ZamZam Sounds to name a few. Growing up together their influences bounced off one another, while gradually leaning towards their own signature styles of creativity. While Ahkur engaged in the Southern California underground rave scene, Tetrad grew up experimenting with punk, metalcore and ska bands, the brothers combined their influences together and took the first step into music production. 

When diving into the Moral Terror EP, it clearly shows which road each artist went down to path their own style. As Ahkur creates a combination of deep cinematic textures and experimental sound design, while Tetrad fabricates on heavy dubbed basslines intertwined with eery soundscapes.

The two brothers are fast becoming huge icons within the ever growing American dubstep scene.

Staying familiar on 140bpm territory we at Simply Deep would like to welcome Leeds based artist ‘Mungk’ to the family. Mungk has quickly become a legend in the scene for his colourful and dynamic productions which never fail to impress, this palette of productions has seen him release Vinyl and Digital music on very respectable labels: Duploc, Frozen Plates, Soil and Sound & Encrypted Audio to name a few.

Mungk is no stranger to Simply Deep either, ‘Totem’ saw Imanzi and Mungk team up for the track ‘Kapa Haka’ whilst January saw the drop of his track ‘Masquerade’. We are glad to have him back on the roster for his debut EP ‘Tarot’, if that wasn’t exciting enough, we have three talented artists on remix duties: Hypho, Hunter Reed & Khromi.

The entire release oozes with class alongside disciplined production techniques, the melodies in all three original productions are captivating and yet still top contenders for Sound System Music with the rumbling low-end basslines – a perfect spectrum of sound.

At Simply Deep we rarely find the intro compositions as much of a joy as the ‘drop’ itself, this EP is truly a mark of craftsmanship from Mungk.

The icing on this delicious cake is the remix work from Hypho, Hunter Reed and Khromi, all respectably adding their own touch to the productions whilst keeping true to the original vision from Mungk. This is without a doubt one of our proudest releases to date, we hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.
