Cover Me Up (Jason Isbell Cover)

This is a song that I wrote for my Mom in memory of my brother, Alex.  It's a little bit outside of the realm of what I've been making lately, but I wanted to share it today or else I know that I probably never will.  I recorded it in my apartment last fall in one take, and have tried on many occasions to fix it up or I guess ‘produce’ it more, but I just haven’t been able to do it.

It was always my intention to release it today, so here it is - this is “I Could Fly”.
 

Alex - It's hard to believe that it has been 8 years now since we lost you, I often think of all of the cool music and projects that we could have worked on together if you were still here. You still inspire me so much. I miss you everyday Alex, you were so loved.

I Could Fly

The process of learning how to make electronic music has allowed me to approach the guitar from a whole new perspective. I wrote this in the middle of the night during a blizzard in Boston for one of my final projects this semester at Berklee. "EP 371 Final" didn't quite seem like a nice enough name, so I am simply calling this piece "Snow".
