Four young birds about to embark on a life changing expedition across the Pacific Ocean. From Monterey Bay, California, to Cairns, Australia, the birds will be chirping oceans education to young people via the floating classroom.

In June 2014, the four boating birds will join the New Ocean Wave Pacific Ocean race from Monterey Bay, California, to Honolulu, Hawaii, a journey of 2100 nautical miles. From Hawaii, they will continue onwards to Australia, visiting schools throughout the journey, and giving online classes live from the boat.

Four Birds are an international team from the UK, and South Africa, who have spent time in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia and Royal Navy. They will be using the ocean to bring young people together, in the same way that the oceans have brought people together through trade and transport for millennia. 

Four Birds will be providing free, online, environmental and STEM education to young people worldwide, thanks to their virtual classroom and 3D film footage.
