Luca Olivotto is back!
After a short break, we return with catalog number 23, featuring our dear friend from Berlin, the talented Luca Olivotto.

His new release "Last Night EP" is infused with the Italian house wave of the 90's, characterized by dreamy melodies with a fresh breeze, a slight sense of groove and advanced and melodic arrangements, the release is maximally executed in his own style, which is already recognizable as the signature of the producer himself.
Luka also makes an excellent vinyl label Small Great Things and parties of the same name where he promotes his love for house music and dance.

Bambooman - 'Grasp'

Peach - a ubiquitous variety of schnapps as well as one of our favourite DJ's of the year, steps into the FH control room for an hour(ish) of dancefloor mastery. With no productions (yet 👀) to speak of, Peach has forged a name through her DJing prowess via her Radar Radio show "Snacktime" and while more recently with appearances on the bill alongside the likes of DJ Fett Burger, Hidden Spheres and Jackmaster in December.

Her bow astrung with plenty of strings, the London based Canadian has it in her locker to deliver in a number of ways; whether it be stonking, ripping-rawness or silky-smooth pearliness - her mixes provide an ever encyclopedic voyage into dance music. Not wavering from this sentiment, her mix for FH lies on the more chilled side of her repertoire - awash with soft sonic waves licking the shore of the floor.

Fruit Merchant are back, bad and riper than ever, this time with label honcho Hidden Spheres taking the reigns behind the striped tarpaulin. Not balshily shouting discounted Pink Lady prices on the Chatsworth Road, but carefully crafting four smooth as ever cuts for the imprints forth release, fresh for your enjoyment.

'Twelve 4/4' is everything you associate with it's creators past creations. Considered and temperate yet punchy and deep; and as ever, infused with about as many jazzy nuances as Duke Ellington's trumpet oil (a lot, surely?). The record as a whole and 'Twelve 4/4' in isolation provides a little respite from what appears to be a fairly raw and club driven sonic landscape right now. Drift away into the hazy blue on your palm raft with this one - Mañana Mañana.

Here we see the label welcome Dublin, Ireland based artist DART onto its roster, yet another rising talent making waves on his home turf and further afield across the globe

Premiere: DART 'Only the Strong' (Big Miz remix)

Dressed in a white tank top, crinkly red swim shorts, and a pair of flimsy green flip flops, he adopted a nonchalant stroll and headed down the street, pausing as he reached the corner. Lifting his sunglasses and glancing across the road, he noticed a red convertible easing into a parking space in front of an off-license. He watched the driver leap out of the car and hurry into the shop, leaving the keys in the ignition. Pausing for another moment, he lowered his sunglasses and slinked towards the car, casually opening the door and making himself comfortable before turning the key, gripping the wheel, and putting his foot down.

Alinka pulls no punches with the 4AM mix of ‘Do What U Want’; punchy rhythms, chopped vocals and a catchy hook of acid stabs make up the title track of her forthcoming EP on her brand new imprint, Fantasy Life. 'Do What U Want' is a love letter to dance music, flaunting the retro flavours that Alinka has become known for through her DJ sets and releases with Twirl Recordings. But although the EP harks back to those classic house framework, the Berlin-based producer succeeds at keeping each track engaging and fresh by expertly weaving in complex layers of sound.

Just short of their milestone tenth release, Haŵs pulls up the inimitable DJ Chupacabra (and alias of Davide Piras) for his debut. ‘Yard Club’ takes the intimacy of hazy, expectant dancefloors and transfers it into four subtle shades that demonstrate the understated power of the warmup track – or the after-hours wind-down. 

It’s a neat pool of stripped-back UKG and house that brings up the same delicious sensations of a rollercoaster slowly approaching its descent or recovering from its fall. Where these tools get put into practice is totally up to imagination.
