S.O.N.S - Psychedance Songs [SHROOM03]

We are back with our second Elektorni vinyl release, this time with three original cuts from the legend Mesak (Klakson, Orson) and a remix from Picture (Help Recordings, Kalahari Oyster Cult)! Release date 1.11.2024.

The A-side opens with Mutella, a slapping electro track powered by a growling bassline and dripping with gothic emotion. Next up is Ei Damagea, a smooth slice of electrohypnotism calling to you from an otherworldly dimension inhabited by floaty rhythms and quirky synth stabs. Flip the record, and Mesak flexes his versatility with the 155 bpm piece Musantropia, cruising top down and top speed somewhere between electro, IDM and D&B. Fresh! The journey ends with Picture’s mesmerising remix taking Musantropia deep into an eight-minute techno meditation reminiscent of Basic Channel material, but with an Århusian take on the sound.

'Floating, Glowing' is the latest release by producer RXEX, finding a home on much-loved Naarm/Melbourne-based label Backpocket Slammers. 

"A six-track voyage through shadowy low-end terrain," 'Floating, Glowing' is a mix of introspection and build, perfectly articulating the forward-thinking approach to Australia's more experimental takes on dance floor psychedelia, featuring remixes by none other than Andy Garvey and Autogenesis.

'Bone Whistler', premiered here, is a heaving mix of dubstep and half-time drum & bass, consistently shifting its shape but with a consistent dedication to weighty percussion. 

Of the track, RXEX shared a similar kind of smokey mystique:

"Exhale decaying rhythms, glowing and dissolving into shadow — inhale the unknown, floating light of fractured realms, rising from the dreams of silent nights."
