Ian Pooley returns to Rekids with Studio A Pt.3 this September. 

The third and final entry in a three-part release series based on his studio, Ian Pooley’s ‘Studio A Pt. 3’ for Radio Slave’s imprint sees him drop yet another set of bumping, hardware-focussed tracks.

Leading the A-side, ‘PSS480’ combines swinging drums, modulated low end, and trippy bleeps for a party-starting house track. ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ brings flanged-out drums and lush pads together for a wonky yet driving cut. On the flip, ‘Viola’ sees Pooley heading toward heavier territories with rumbling kicks and heaving synths forming a pumping techno track before the ‘303 Version’ of ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ closes out the EP, introducing tweaked-out acid lines and freaky FX to the original version.

Active since the early 90s, the German DJ/producer has released on the likes of Force Inc, V2 Records, and his own Pooledmusic, remixing for the likes of Deee-Lite, Carl Cox and many more, as well as being one of the few to be remixed by Daft Punk.

Hooj Tunes! If you were around in the 90s and early 00s this record label will need no introduction; a pioneering imprint responsible for so many seminal dance records, they were hugely influential on us as young ravers and DJs. When we heard they were relaunching we were buzzing. We also knew we had the right record to send them… 

Back in 1992, Paul Van Dyk and Cosmic Baby released a few records under the name The Visions of Shiva. One track was Perfect Day, which we played often. A couple of years ago we decided to cover it, just for our own DJ sets really, but after seeing the reactions we thought it might see a release one day, if the right label came along. This year marks 30 years since the original was released on MFS, so it seems fitting that everything fell in place for Hooj to release our 30 Year Tribute version today. 

Solid DJ support on promo from DJs including Sasha, Job Jobse, Dam Swindle, Justin Robertson and Optimo, who said “30 years since Perfect Day came out?! Oh my! Was such a fave of mine back then. Ace and pleasingly faithful tribute."

Following releases on Permanent Vacation, NeedWant, and HE.SHE.THEY, Ukraine-born, Chicago-raised and Berlin-based DJ/producer Alinka returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘Numbers EP’, bringing three tracks of inspired and colourful house tracks for her second release on the imprint.

Leading the release, the title track ‘Numbers’ brings robotic vocals, bright leads, and bouncing basslines together for a sharp and energetic opener. ‘Better Days’ follows with chunky drum machines and dubbed-out chords before ‘80’s Baby’ closes the EP in fine style with soaring leads atop pumping kicks.

“This is a very nostalgic release for me. Every track is different from the next, but all were influenced by the different styles of music I grew up playing and listening to as a DJ, from Italo to early tech house and deep house.” - Alinka.

Exclusive: Ketiov - Gorgeous

Residing in Madrid it is Polish House ambassador Voitek Taranczuk delivering the seventh outing (and second edit edition) of his label, which he started back in 2022 under his solo artist moniker Ketiov. Voitek, who many know due to his participation as infamous House-duo Catz 'n Dogz (formerly 3 Channels), has treasured his solo-project and aside from his own edit series also released a solo EP on Gerd Janson's Running Back label. After a hiatus he now puts out new (housey) material on the label, namely four edits that cover the pureness of electronic music's main-genres: House and Disco. The A1, Gorgeous, is the sweet (door) opener of the EP but also provides listeners to dive deeper into the New York-influenced House-sound with a slightly percussive bassline as well as deep chords and vocal-samples. Rich in sounds and harmonious in its composition Ketiov delivers and absolutely classy tune made for intimate club moments.
