Since launching in 2020, London-based record label Alien Communications have carved out a wormhole within the ever-expanding multiverse of electro - part ancestral tribute, part forward-facing manifesto...Frequencies arrive courtesy of Rotterdam-based sentinel ERP, whose clinical funk continues to trace lines from the Drexciyan abyss to present-day neural circuitry. Melbourne-based producer Reptant slithers through with his signature high-res amphibian oscillations, while MOY summons the broken arithmetic of braindance into dizzying fractal patterns. The enigmatic Client_03 delivers encrypted missives from the future’s surveillance zones, while Plant43’s analog cartographies unfurl crystalline electro-geometries for urban mystics.

@surusinghe’s arrival on @dh2records is a surefooted four-track EP of tightly-wound club gear that sees her spreading out into exciting new realms, titled 'i can’t remember the name of this, but that's ok'.

On ‘Wolfgang,’ Surusinghe pivots towards brain-melting machine funk driven by a low-slung juggernaut of subtly swung rhythm and a fierce line in modulating synth work, with ad-production from Berlin-based producer @rhyw.

It all began with “Have Sword, Will Travel“, an EP that started the „armed“ journey with its many different ups and downs. But the label is still here and celebrates its 10th anniversary today. Besides being pretty emotional about the fact that this journey is still continuing after so many years, I’m also looking back at an intense period of time full of doubts, disappointments and mistakes. Especially social media leads us to believe that every life is so exciting, spectacular and unique and that you are doing something wrong compared to all of this glamorous self-promotion. If you really start comparing to these blissful images, things feel miserable very fast. But instead, the healthiest things are to just be yourself, to follow your vision no matter how slow and complicated things evolve and to avoid doing things that feel wrong and factitious. And because of that, everything is right where it should be for Shaw Cuts and it’s still so much fun and exciting to run this project. I’m trying my best to keep things going and to keep things fresh & exciting - hopefully for another decade.
Thank you all for the genuine appreciation and support of all the music that got released over the past 10 years, for having an open mind for all the different projects and for helping the label to grow and develop a certain brand recognition and identity. Without you none of that would have been possible. Have Sword, Will Travel.

This Is An Introduction To My World deploys a polysemic musical language in which syncopation becomes syntax through jungle, dubstep, dub and drum&bass. Hayashi conjures up a sensory hybridization on the fringes of bass music where polyrhythms textures and infrabasses collide.

The EP is extended by two new interpretations: CABALE injects a captivating tension between dissonant melody and jungle rhythm et Maude Vôs signs a gradual meditative ascent where the sound stretches into an psychedelic ambience.

This first EP doesn't introduce a world, it sculpts it. It traces its contours in the haze between heartbeat and kick.
