Since launching in 2015, Sydney based Aaron Andrew's Chubby Records has become a well trusted Deep House imprint. Their long-awaited next release ‘Various Volume 4’ is perhaps their most expansive release yet, with four fresh cuts each with an accompanying remix stretched across two slabs of wax, with a who's who of some of the best names in house and techno.

Kicking off, Aleqs Notal goes deep on the immersive and hypnotic, 'Planetary Insanity'. His ultra-smooth deep Detroit styled techno laying a super solid foundation for the track. In-demand producer Life Recorder makes his debut on Chubby, turning the more streamlined original into a euphoric and optimistic dance floor gem.  Cheerier and breezier deep house warmth comes courtesy of Jose Rico's 'Agonias'. Known for his lively tribal beats, the melody is as unique and classy as ever, staying right in the sweet spot.  Leonid goes deep and shoots for a more stripped-down rework homing in on the chords and tribal vibes.

On the second piece of vinyl is one of Australia's most respected artists, Ewan Jansen, with ‘Basilica’.  It’s a late-night deep house groover that rides a sublime Detroit vibe.  One of the EP’s standout moments is by Veteran producer Nail, who turns the dial to up on his early morning take on Jansen's bubbler.  The man behind Planisphere (who had one of the hottest reissues last year) David Swatten, brings the most laid-back jam of the comp with the super smooth 'Wave Energy'.  Crystalized melodies chime off waves of house bliss in this super clean cut. Legendary techno artist, John Beltran’s more upbeat Chicago rerub adds his forte to the mix. Its’s a gorgeous revision of Swatten's brilliantly bittersweet missive that will end any night on a high.

Your Planet Is Next is the nom de guerre of one Arvid Wretman – multidisciplinary artist, live performer and noise maker from Stockholm, Sweden. Since his 2014 debut cassette under the YPIN alias, through two floor-optimised solo EPs for Studio Barnhus, this self-proclaimed “Mr. Music” has terrorised us with the most gloriously disturbed electronic funk, all while cultivating his puzzling YPIN persona: part failed pop-star, part extraterrestrial threat. On his first full-length release for Studio Barnhus, emotions range from acidic romance to pure paranoia. Rave, screw, electro and chill vibes are all combined on an album that plays like an exhilarating journey through the mind of a mad genius.

Ben Gomori debuts on House Of Disco Records with a meaty package of acid-laced cuts and some huge remixes. '7AM At Wintergarten' was inspired by his sprawling late-night / early-morning sets at the legendary Wintergarten room at Berlin's Sisyphos, and was debuted there to great reactions. Panoramabar resident Massimiliano Pagliara completes the local link with his excellent heads-down, stomping remix.

'Mars Joint' is a tribute of sorts to one of Gomori's heroes, Kerri Chandler, and combines one of his classic patches with gentle acid licks and whirring feedback FX. Jordan Nocturne crushes his Italo-electro remix—succinct but hugely effective—while promising Irish newcomer SHEE goes for a tough but deep atmospheric interpretation.

James Bright presents the Third instalment from his newly minted Life On Earth Recording, serving up Four Balearic cuts on the characteristically scintillating ‘The Garden Of Sound’ EP.

With a prolificacy that is more than matched by his impeccable attention to production detail, James’ nuanced and transportive music continues to charm fans from all corners of the esoteric underground. With releases under his belt for the likes of NuNorthern Soul, Sprechen, Quattro and Music For Swimming Pools, the decision to launch his own imprint allows him the opportunity to freely explore the far-reaching realms of downtempo, electronica, nu-disco, deep house and more. Following on from the label’s last outing “TRICKS EP”, he subtly switches pace from seductively languid territory to Sun streaked rhythms and shimmering electronica.

“Hands Together” further raises the tempo of the EP with a hot, Latin percussive pulse, fizzy electronics and a throbbing bassline.

Sabía que para dormir bien debería llegar a hacerlo. ¿Hallaste las diez verdades del día? Tula no distingue ya la verdad de la mentira. Su alma seguía hambrienta. ¿te reíste hoy lo suficiente? Quizás. Pero de dónde la angustia, el nudo en el estómago. ¿estás en paz con dios y con el diablo? Y Tula rumiando. Las preguntas del sabio, la soledad, la noche, la ausencia, el corazón sangrando. Resignada, esperaba el día. Un calor sofocante inundaba su cuarto, y a esas horas solo deseaba despertar sobre el mar. Parece que al señor de los sueños le dio pena, porque finalmente vino por ella. Cerró sus párpados. Tocó su boca. Se apoderó de sus pensamientos, como dice el sabio. Tula, sin pensamientos, liviana como una pluma, se dejó llevar por extraños mundos de amor y locura. Y sucedió que se encendió como nunca. Su cuarto destellaba. Alguien gritó “Tula cogió candela!!” y todo el vecindario corrió para apagar el fuego. Allá fueron Ibrahim Ferrer, Elíades, Puntillita. Carlos se quedó mirando.
Son muchos los que no creen la historia del sabio y del señor de los sueños. Afirman que Tula se encendió porque se quedó dormida, no apagó la vela y ya.
